Dad was quite vocal about her budding romance with the Ingalls boy. Nothing good ever came from that clan. Brothers, sisters, cousins… all with questionable histories. The #bloodline cursed! Loretta paid no heed pushing forward. Years later she literally lost her head. #vss365

Walking through the backstreets I wanted to minimize exposure to the hustle and bustle of the city. I saw a small kitten as I passed a dumpster behind a restaurant. A calico came to me rubbing around my ankles. Purring as I picked her up, she knew I was her #safehaven. #vss365

When we first met there was simply no doubt. This was a woman I wanted to take home to meet Mother. Pretty, smart, classy, great communicator and everyone seemed to love her. As time went on I discovered the facade was unsustainable. Her back door was a #thoroughfare. #vss365

Although at war for turf and drug trafficking dominance, the #nexus between the street gangs are guns. Simply put power is only established by their numbers, available guns on the street and the lack of value for another’s life… and sadly, their own. #vss365

Dark times! Nobody really knew what AIDS was except no cure. Estranged and not revealing his condition to family he suffered and withered to 95 pounds. When pain became too much he filled the #bathtub, loaded up on Benzos and pulled the electric radio in with him… 💔 #vss365

Look for my blue #umbrella. I’ll be standing in the shadows of the alley but step into the street light when I see you approaching. We’ll be shielded enough no one will recognize us. It’s only a short walk to my apartment. The perfect clandestine rendezvous and tryst. #vss365

Among his large social group he was known by the nickname #Rocket. The women he’d dated had a corner on this inside story. Apparently he was quite the charmer but once in bed he had a quick countdown before blastoff and flamed out rather quickly. He worked for NASA! #vss365

Sitting on the privacy fence and Holly Berry bushes sparrows, finch and juncos wait their turn at the feeders. Still in a morning fog my mind wanders as I create their backstory. The #sonder of their existence. It’s clear however they are glad the weekend has arrived. #vss365

A nice evening out found us back at Jen’s house for a night cap. Low lights, candles and soft jazz… arousal building. Standing behind her I gently lifted the back of her hair, pulled her #collar aside and kissed that special spot right where neck and shoulders meet… #vss365

Waiting is a dangerous thing for over-thinkers. Too much time to ponder what the hold up is just perpetuates the seething angst of us impatient types. It doesn’t take long to #conjure up all sorts of reasons for inefficiency, laziness or any other reason that surfaces. #vss365

I pretty well decided to give up dating and hope of any serious relationship. Into my 40s and two failed marriages left me skeptical. Dating was a roll of the dice these days. They say you never see it coming but without doubt I finally met my #needle in the haystack! #vss365

What a debacle. Something that was wrong but also so beautiful. Our agreement to meet in a neutral city was smart but we did not plan to pass out until morning in each other’s arms. Where did time go? The mess of our extramarital secretions #congealed together. #vss365

I’d given this presentation several times. A nagging uncertainty though so I carefully went through the delivery one more time. Things seemed to be going smooth yet I noticed people visibly grinning. My face #flush as a fire engine realizing my zipper was down! #vss365

Larry always schmoozed the ladies whether a Mom, Teacher or department store clerk. Polite perhaps and gave a good first impression but his #unctuous personality was a bit over-the-top. Sadly, we knew him as a slimy SOB with a deceitful hate filled heart. #vss365

Waking abruptly, Shadow my dog nudged me. I heard it too but couldn’t wake enough to identify the sound. My head cleared and someone was definitely in the house. Reaching for my baseball bat the #galumph on the hardwood floor scuffled closer. I drew back and swung… #vss365

Obvious to a growing number of followers the reply guys became more direct with each revealing photograph. Their number multiplied while her account exploded. Relishing in all those #fawning over her the next step was clearly, “Only Fans” and many of us lost a friend. #vss365

Whose car was in my garage, why is my wife also home from work early? Questions flooded in as instincts made me #pucker. Quietly entering the back door, tiptoeing down the hall I heard her cries and his deep moans. Flinging the bedroom door open, my best friend lay with my wife! #vss365

Always the naysayer full of doom and gloom. Agreeable with nothing. Spewing negatives he should keep to himself or just disappear. I can’t imagine what she saw in him or what it must be like to live with him. I always hated when his #slithy tongue was directed at her. #vss365

Studies of Alfred Kinsey during undergraduate Psychology were intriguing but purely for academic purposes. Discovering interest in later years found me fascinated by his theories and conclusions about human sexuality. Suddenly, I found myself well down a #rabbit _hole. #vss365

What kind of conscious does the man have? How does one live with themselves? Rumors abound and as they say, if several sources know the same facts, it must be true. Does that matter anymore? His deceit and lies have become his #cloak of secrecy! #vss365

Looking back I should have been patient and worked through our problems. I made it all about me and the injustices I was feeling. I didn’t consider family, friends, the life we built together. Time, communication and effort could have saved us. I was clearly a #fool! #vss365

Years upon years, problem upon problem. If lucky some were resolved others remain a mystery. I’ve gone from always smiling and fun loving to a cold face of seriousness. Sleep? I carry many passengers on my train of endless thoughts and angst. My mind is a #labyrinth. #vss365

Writing words from heart. Translating emotions and feelings I don’t have the opportunity to show or speak. Am I in this alone now? You haven’t replied in days but I journey on. Although we ended long ago I want the best for you, still #silence is deafening. #vss365

Our torrid affair sprung to life in Spring with the daffodils & tulips. It was wild like spontaneous dandelion. The tryst blazed like hot Summer sun as weeks of salacious heat burned. The Fall brought a sudden turning point like fading leaves. By Winter, solid #ice! #vss365

It’s not what I envisioned but I really can’t complain. I’m gathering more #dust these days. Travel ideas are secondary to a good book on the porch. The golf & tennis matches take a backseat to dog walks. One less cocktail and an extra cup of coffee seems a good trade. #vss365

“I’ll date you if you #quit smoking”! Jen was clear in her message and desire for a relationship. A wake-up call to be told “your kisses taste like licking an ash tray”. That’s all I needed to hear. Dating was fun but didn’t last. I never lit another cigarette again. #vss365

It was time to call in the FBI Behavioral Crime Unit. No one yet could put together a fathomable profile of the serial killer. #Esoteric in nature the unit’s skill, methods, and capabilities were not readily comprehended by even the brightest forensic psychologists. #vss365

She called me #sweet for just being myself and a gentleman. So sad whatever else she was used to or expected. It’s not hard at all to open/hold doors, help her with her coat, pull out a chair, ensure her comfort, be a partner in planning, and most of all communicate. #vss365

Fairly quickly I realized the answer to the motive would be complicated. Examining the crime scene observing the dynamics of a heated struggle were the only clues. Forensics would find more answers but for now all I could offer was an experienced #guess. #vss365

I haven’t been to church in a long time. It’s so cold out and church is my best option. A long time has passed since I joined in with evening #vespers but my prayers are sincere. Hopefully I can blend in and stay overnight. I can’t do another night out in the snow. #vss365

We shook hands exchanged pleasantries and sat at the table. Meeting her parents the first time I quickly surmised this was an exercise for her mother. Clearly she wore the pants in the family. Those raven eyes were almost unnerving. Would I #measure up to expectations? #vss365

I’ve never met a man so hellbent on telling the “best stories”. My elderly neighbor always said “Jonesy would rather climb a tree to tell a lie, than stand on the ground to tell the truth”. I suppose that’s a good analogy. I’ve learned to #question everything he says. #vss365

“Sweet Surprise” was my first reaction immediately after we met and talked for a while. Enamored, intrigued, curious … so many adjectives might describe my feelings. A few more conversations and all the above turned to sheer #delight! Such rewarding communication! #vss365

At first glance we wondered. Voices exchanged and heads #turned. Was our connection that obvious? Fires can burn hot, cherry red and flame out quickly. Depth as with Oak burns deep, steady and is sustainable. Are we? #vss365

Stepping outside on a bright and brisk winter’s day, I sucked in a huge breath of #fresh air. The pain of a thousand needles impaled my throat and instantly froze my sinuses. Wheezing, coughing, hacking and choking I finally gained composure. Damn, this air is ice cold! #vss365
