Cancer patient or carer in England looking to get involved in local advocacy? Pretty much all NHS England Cancer Alliances operate a PPIE program. It's a great way to make a meaningful difference in cancer treatment in your area. Find your Cancer Alliance here: www.england.nhs.uk/cancer/cance...

Good to see some of the work I did for GM Cancer Alliance recognised in a local newspaper www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/special-feat...

Well I did it. Deleted the Xitter app from my devices. Have left my account there but won’t be browsing/reading/posting there any more. Say no to nazis.

I keep hearing “you might not like Trump and the GOP, but look they are getting things done, the liberal consensus has done nothing for the last 10 years”. There’s some truth in this, but that truth is smashing things up is easy and quick, while building things up is hard and slow.

BREAKING: If you put the word "BREAKING" at the start of a social media post, you can claim any old shit, and 60% of the people that read it will believe you without question.

I spent the morning at The Christie Hospital in Manchester - an appointment with my oncologist to review scans and blood, followed by the pharmacy to pick up cycle 74 of my meds. Scans all stable, so on we go for another 3 months. Living with lung cancer continues. #cansky

Spent a bit of time this week updating my estimate of the # of ALK+ patients on a TKI in the NHS in England. A summary graph is attached. More details and my original numbers on this from a year ago are available here: drive.google.com/file/d/1r8JH...

Spent the day fiddling with Excel spreadsheets to figure out if I can start drawing down my pension this year. Running monte-carlo sims in Excel less than ideal, but gets the job done. Of course the hard part in any pension calc is allowing for that "black swan" event in the first few years. 1/2

A lesson for all companies that want to run social media platforms. I hope the owners of this platform are taking note.

Mum in my support group just announced her 18yo Son died last week. Fuck this disease. Fuck it to hell and back - except there is no hell or heaven either because no caring creator would ever inflict such horror on us. Equal parts angry and heartbroken 😖

I hope one day we will have a cure for cancer. I fear we will never have a cure for stupid. I’m way beyond being patient with people that fall for the grifts described in this thread… and those that perpetrate the grifts are beyond contempt.

Ah dry January... All my friends who are doing it: "it's great, I'm already feeling so much better!" Me doing it while on systemic anti-cancer therapy: "I still feel like sh**." Honestly if it wasn't for my high ALT number in my last liver function tests, I really wouldn't bother. #cansky #lcsm

I take it all back... Musk *is* a genius. He's playing 4D chess to get the people of the world to all hate him so much that we actually pay him the $Trillions required for him to f*** off to Mars

Cancer The monkey on my back when I want to stand up tall The ice in my heart when I want to feel love The whisper in my ear when I want to live my life I made you. I hate you You are part of me now.

Our cats partied too hard on NYE - all day snooze required.

Bloody hell it’s 2025 and I am still here after being dx in 2019 with stage 4 NSCLC. Still doing well AFAIK… reason enough to celebrate… keep taking the pills! #cansky #oncsky #lcsm
