Still devastated by the age’s decision. Their defence that they can’t be seen to choose sides in an election is specious. I can think of a dozen things a political party could try to say in an ad that they wouldn’t hesitate to bin. They made the decision that what this ad said was fine.

There is no anti-semitism in Australian unis. Plenty of anti-zionist activism, as there rightfully should be. Anti-semitism comes from neo-nazis and far right. They're not smart enough for uni, but they do spend plenty of time supporting Sarah Henderson's party and colleagues.

ICAN Australia are hosting a important event on the dual existential threats of climate collapse and nuclear weapons. Joining them is the Australia Institute's very own @pollyjhemming.bsky.social. 📅 Thu 27 Feb 2025, 6:00pm—7:00pm 🔗 sustainabilityfestival.au/event/nuclea...

This is fascism.

Just a reminder that “forcible transfer” of a civilian population is a crime against humanity www.law.cornell.edu/wex/forcible....

Amy explains the purpose of our live blog: "what we do hope to do is add in some context where needed and do as many fact checks as possible at the time the fact needs to be checked. And well, you have a bit more freedom to call some of that stuff out at a think tank." live.australiainstitute.org.au

Dutton's nuclear plan? Oh you mean his plan for yellow coal. Yeah, yellow coal. I mean it's a resource dug from the ground and used to heat water to make energy... and the real reason Dutton's pushing nuclear is for a trojan horse to keep coal around longer. So it's yellow coal!

This is a good read by @beneltham.bsky.social, and suitably worrying.

Months of @sarahschwartz.bsky.social making this point, followed by a week of rightwing media proving her point, culminate in this perfect distillation of how hollow Dutton's "anti-antisemitism" crusade is Bravo to Sarah for calling it out, at great personal cost www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

Three terms, each often used as a pejorative that I wear as a badge of honour: 1. Woke 2. Nerd 3. Radical Left

The people attacking Sarah Schwartz for pointing out the inherent racism in zionism are the same people defending Elon Musk and his fascist salute. That tells you all you need to know about them.

To those Indigenous Australians that support the zionist lobby like Marcia Langdon and Nova Peris: don't you think the Israeli myth "a land without a people for a people without a land" sounds a little too close to Terra Nullius? How do you not see it...

This government had so many chances to introduce media regulation, or even just tax billionaires to reduce their power, but they did nothing. Even when the writing was on the wall re Trump and his backers, they still did nothing. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

I've found many of my favourite people on here, but still many more I'd love to connect with! If you have an interest in Australian politics, progressive policy, ending male violence and toxic masculinity, opposing genocide, and ending the duopoly then let's be friends.

Keeping people in poverty is a political choice. Supporting a genocide is a political choice. Approving more coal and gas is a political choice. Silence while over 100 women die to male violence is a political choice. If you want to change the politics, we need to change the politicians.

More Australians experiencing #homelessness and living in #poverty, while others become multiple property owners. For a real Labor govt, fixing this growing #inequality would be their top New Year resolution. Instead we get weasel words about people 'doing it tough'. And policy failure. #auspol
