A federal judge has extended the order keeping Elon Musk's DOGE out of Treasury Department payment systems, ruling that the Trump admin's process for granting access to the sensitive data was so flawed and haphazard that it was likely illegal.

In the current House version, they only spell out $1.5 trillion in cuts ($880 bn in E&C, plus more) - but for every dollar below $2 trillion they get a dollar less in tax cuts. So not only do deeper cuts beyond $2 trillion buy them extra tax cuts, they get punished for doing “only” $1.5 trillion.

The House GOP budget resolution target of $880 billion in #Medicaid cuts is a floor not a ceiling. It is AT LEAST $880b in cuts. The Energy & Commerce Committee could report even deeper cuts and there would be pressures to do that because of the priority of making the tax cuts as large as possible.

For House GOP members concerned about draconian #Medicaid cuts reminder that if budget resolution has instruction of at least $880b in cuts, that number is locked in. Budget reconciliation must include that cuts level moving forward. The number can’t be later revisited without losing bill privilege.
