Why is #military budget off limits to #DOGE? B/c w/out it, US #oligarchs couldn't control markets & resources across the planet. All other expenditures are waste; going to workers, poor people, environment, rather than them. Slash & gut these to finance largest #tax cuts ever for the rich.

I watched “The Room Next Door” yesterday because Tilda Swinton, duh (and it was a chance to spend time with someone) - but I was not prepared for how heartbreaking it was, especially against my backdrop of the last year (iyknk). I cried through half of the movie and then more in my car after.

NEW: 2024 has just been confirmed as the warmest year on record, and the first to breach the 1.5C threshold. We used a ridgeline (Joy Division inspired) chart to visualise daily temperature anomalies since 1940. 2024 clearly stands out with 100% of its days above 1.3C and 75% above 1.5C.

I’ve already read Starter Villain by @scalzi.com but now I’m listening to the audiobook version narrated by Wil Wheaton and I gotta say he brings a lot to the experience! I’m new to audiobooks but I’m definitely enjoying them now that I’m here.
