Saw a post asking, "Why can't writers edit their own stories?" Four words: the curse of intent. We know what we meant to say. Therefore, when we look at our own work, we see what we intended. Ergo, we fail to see what's there and how it comes across. Objective eyes don't have that disadvantage.
