I don't think any suicide bomber ever cited "not enough aid" as their reason, and most of aid didn't go to countries "like us" instead they went to poor countries which are very likely to be under authoritarian rules. However, the control for disease like TB is one of legit reason i can get behind

I’m sure it’s good for whoever receiving the aids but idk how you would make the case for Americans

It's hard because you are not just confronting musk, you are also confronting the rocket, the car, the technologies, the innovations which are all associated with him. Most importantly you are fundamentally confronting THE embodiment of the American dream.

it's always sad to see reasonable/rational people unconditionally giving away power for one reason or another, it almost always end very badly

Ok you hate to be in power, that's fair, but why do you hate it? i don't buy the "power corrupt" point, I think power expose people to more opportunities of corruption, and it is intrinsically neural tool that can be used for both great good or bad

Can you not understand the difference between "A makes B slightly more likely to happen" vs "a specific instance of B happened because of A"? The figure shows insurance companies believe climate change will make these event more likely but it says nothing about attributing specific event

More direct explanations like the budget cut and the weather conditions seems to be way more legit than climate change

I mean how DO you attribute specific event to climate change? Sure climate change might made fire at this specific region slightly more likely. But it is so far up the chain of causes that I'm highly suspicious of people claiming "oh it must be climate change".

why so many people genuinely love musician because they enjoy the music? there are so many other cases where people love a product yet indifferent towards its producer.

Do you think there is a future for bluesky? For me it doesn't to offer anything new, the identity of "twitter refugee" is not gonna to last long. It seems substack is a much more promising venue,

Someone told me a long time ago that crocodile meat taste like chickens because crocodiles are relative to dinosaur and chickens are dinosaurs, is it true?

They are not exactly hard to remember. They are more like "fundamental things that have properties that are useful/common (easy to remember) which is in contrary to its trueness"

It's seems some of them are at odds with each other, for example, indigenous rights are almost in opposition with immigrants right, which one would you prioritise?
