For the first hour of K-horror “The Wailing”, I worried the main guy’s comic bumbling might undermine the horror - then the comedy was abandoned. Visuals and sound were great, but this overlong film wanted to leave me pondering issues of faith and trust which don’t seem worth the ponder. #HorrorSky

The Greens now have nearly 200 more councillors than Reform. This is not something you'd be likely to guess from all the copiously salivating media coverage of Farage & his crew of billionaire-backed far-right chancers.

@coreyartusimagery.com Thank you for reposting my lily painting 😊

“Dawn Breaks Behind The Eyes” (2021) was an intriguing watch and there’s a lot of fun to be had analysing and untangling it. Suspect its 3-star average on Letterboxd is down to it being a love-it-or-hate-it kind of film. #HorrorSky

Today is Eel Day in Ely! To mark the occasion, a giant eel rampages through the city, grazing on the occasional child, before the cityfolk chase it through the streets and back to the river.

Trying out Neoart "wax oil pastels" with some coloured pencil over a gouache underpainting.

I was scrolling and three times a reel came up with the “tampon pasta hack”. It’s time we put these phones down and got out for some fresh air, guys

The discourse around “Sinners” has led me to discover that an R rating in the US doesn’t mean what I imagined it did.

"This is the face of starvation. Do you feel nothing?"

@wyrddaze.bsky.social I’ve just read your Wyrd Daze update, Leigh. I really hope you can find a creative form that is satisfying to work on with whatever time, focus and energy you have. I’m sure you’ll find a path eventually, now that you’ve mentally begun clearing the way. Love to you and Natasha

It’s blissful in the garden this evening. Here’s the view when I look up … and when I look to my right 😺

I used coloured pencils and wax pastels to tweak a recent gouache painting. I think it’s added some richness.

Happy birthday Paul! You opened the box …

Really enjoyed “Sinners”. The sound is amazing, the performances are terrific and there are two particularly powerful and extraordinary scenes centred around dancing. A few quibbles with pacing and flashbacks but overall, impressive.
