How did I learn my roman numerals? Chicago albums like most other in Gen X. I have been going through a bunch of vinyl and cleaning and cataloging. Decided to start with album number one (of four) of Chicago IV. #vinyl #classicalbums

Maybe not the greatest of the work of Wes Montgomery but it's still Wes Montgomery! #jazzrecords #vinyl

I love great pianists. Be it someone like Argerich, Horowitz, or Rachmaninoff in classical music (to just name a few). In jazz, there are so many great pianists but I think the line starts at Art Tatum. #jazzpiano #vinyl

Me and Jerry. Well not me but Chet Atkins and Jerry Reed. Fun little album from about 1970. #guitarrecords #vinyl

Glen Campbell sold a lot of records and I do come across a lot of them in the vinyl bins. Still, most of them are worth a listen. An unbelievable talent on guitar. #vinyl

Most over-rated Mahler Symphony recording Herbert von Karajan's Mahler 9th from 1981. von Karajan's conducting leaves me cold most of the time. I'm sure that Szell was better, Bernstein was better, Kubelik was better, and I am probably missing others in his peer group. #classicalmusic #mahler

Spent some time in the car today. Streamed Chicago V and Eric Clapton's 461 Ocean Blvd. The experimentation on songs like "A Hit By Varese" make Chicago V for me. Picked up my first copy of Clapton's 461 Ocean Blvd in the late 1980's while in college. Both classics. #classicrock

George Szell, Leon Fleisher, The Cleveland Orchestra – Grieg Piano Concerto / Schumann Piano Concerto Solid playing from Leon Fleisher on this recording from 1979 #classicalmusic #vinyl

After many years with the simplicity of a linear tracking turntable, the Technics SL 1200 has more things that need to be set up when switching cartridges. This little chart was really helpful in getting my VTA set for the cartridge that I am using. #technics #turntables
