as their only studio album, Late of the Pier’s Fantasy Black Channel is glamorous, enticing, and fun. I feel like a lot of really good, really enjoyable songs came out in the ‘00s. that or I’m just nostalgic for old music. either way, this album rocks, and I can’t get enough of it my rating: 5/5

perilous, precarious, and patience. three defining keywords for The Last Guardian. this game is beautiful. Fumito Ueda is an auteur, and every game he has directed deserves its significant praises, even if they are equally frustrating to play. I am very excited for Project Robot. my rating: 5/5

quadruple review 🧵 Horizon Zero Dawn was doomed being released about a week before the immensely popular BOTW, but I finished it sometime in November and honestly I had a lot of fun with it. there’s a bit for me to talk about here with the series so far and its DLCs my rating: 3/5

I cannot get enough of this game. Cult of the Lamb is a fantastic video game that combines a cutesy hand drawn art style with horrifying lore and monsters. it’s a dense indie game, and feels like two games in one: a cozy farming sim and a challenging roguelite. all hail the lamb my rating: 5/5

intense and demonically honest, Joe Hill’s Horns spins a frustrating story about a man accused of the rape and murder of his girlfriend. he wakes up one day with Satanic horns growing out of his head that compels people to admit their most depraved sins. best for mature readers my rating: 4/5

loud, unapologetic, and NASTY, System of a Down’s sophomore album Toxicity truly captures unadulterated manic energy. it’s release was marred by controversy, but I’ve also read that its singles were overplayed on the radio to high hell. for someone not avidly into nu metal, it’s good my rating: 4/5

in commemoration of genDESIGN’s new game, I’ll be replaying Fumito Ueda’s collection of games. first on my list is Ico, a mysterious and minimalistic boy meets girl story. practically all of the game is an escort mission, yet it encapsulates rich world building and deep storytelling my rating: 5/5

critically underrated, Rain World is unconventional by all means. it’s a charming metroidvania, a brutal survival horror story, and an absolute bop, once you get the hang of things. there’s a lot to explore and uncover, and I highly recommend playing this with the Downpour DLC my rating: 4/5

turn down the repetitiveness of the last game, and crank up the clunk, The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night has a lot that this game is trying to do to make it fun, but it’s bogged down heavily by frustrating checkpoints, ultimately causing this game to feel like a chore to finish. my rating: 2/5
