Mini may not be able to meow properly, but she’s a champion at purring.

‘There’s a new Joe Abercrombie book: 😯 ‘It’s a grimdark fantasy suicide squad.’ 😮 ‘It’s got a herbo werewolf protag.’ 🫨

So I'm running a Fallout TTRPG campaign which is just a big roadtrip across the apocalyptic US, which lets the party play in all the locations from the games and then some. Here's my GM notes from the first leg of the journey... I'm a perfectly sane and fair GM.

I have a perfectly normal job where I'm paid good money to write perfectly normal things... Also tag yourself I guess?

Seems today is one of those days my cat has decided that my attempts at work are a personal insult to her and must cease.

I didn't make this (I sadly don't know who did), and I don't know how I feel about the name, but despite that, this is an INCREDIBLE resource for finding free-to-use, public domain art for your games. The MÖRK BORG community has been using it for years, so should you. docs.google.com/spreadsheets...

Ah the generation debates are popping off again. Chill reminder that most generation tropes ignore intersectionality and boil down to 'stuff middle class white Americans do'. IMO 'Generations' are little better than star signs. You simply can't generalise global culture based on age alone.

Improvise. Adapt. Overcome

I think more GMs should add shonen anime-esq side character NPCs to their adventuring parties. Just a little guy who stands off to the side of combat, shouts out moves, and warns the party when they're in over their heads.

Guys, I frikkin love being a producer in TTRPGs. It’s like, no two days are the same. One day you’re writing, the next you’re budgeting, the next your briefing art, the next you’re making a script for a promo video, the list goes on. It’s perfect for my ADHD riddled jack of all trades brain.

Oops. We did a newsworthy thing again.

The curse which conspires every year to stop me from going to GenCon has grown stronger than ever.

@barleybap.bsky.social I need you to know that I saw a reddit post where someone was showing off pictures of a angry green slime monster miniature they'd painted and my instant reaction was 'Ah, another classic Ooze post... wait.'

April's (late) free game is RECOVER, a sequel to FETCH, and it's a heartfelt confessional work about mental health rather than my usual daft shit about criminal vermin. (FETCH in the second image, for reference.) Design notes and text only versions here: www.patreon.com/posts/recove...

After a rough couple weeks, I can't express in words alone the insane healing power of spending a great night hanging out and playing Monster Hunter with close friends.

Just under two weeks left to apply to TAGS Fest 2025! If you're an indie creator making comics, zines, tabletop games, or board games, we want you!

NPI consistently make some of my fav tabletop content. Check them out if you want more from your boardgame discussion than 'nerd reads rulebook on camera'.

Me, standing in the kitchen, sipping coffee, blinking at the calendar, and thinking to myself: 'Huh, is it May already?' My internal monologue: 'May-be!' Laugh at my own stupid internal joke so hard I choke on my coffee. I have no idea how I've survived this long.

In typical RRD fashion, what started out as a fire from the hip joke has taken on a life of its own.

Never say I don’t commit to a bit, @rowanrookanddecard.bsky.social

I love finishing a TTRPG project and thinking, "Wow, this is the best thing I have ever made!" and then doing it again and again with each successive release. Keep making stuff; you're improving more than you know.

I scream internally every time I see someone online ask ‘how do I make a career in TTRPGs?’ and they’re told to ‘Start a YouTube or TikTok channel’. It’s ass backwards advice! You don’t get better at oil painting by learning piano, why would you get better at making games by making video content?!

'I'm not lazy. It's for the butterflies.' I smile, content, half submerged in the waist high jungle that is our back garden.
