Watching The Pianist (2002). Incredibly powerful but boy did a pick a weird and bad time to watch this!

Good a time as any to delve into this bad boy

Really enjoyed this new Horsegirl album

guess Jeff Bezos got tired of being overshadowed by Musk and Zuck and needed to remind us all that he is also an evil piece of shit whose very existence is a stain on humanity

here's a thing about CEO culture--at some point, talking openly about your personal failures and making mistakes became a "leadership quality" to the degree that these guys got way, wayyy too comfortable making huge life ruining mistakes.

dude it really is not funny or witty to tag a swastika on nazi stuff. people just see that and think "oh no, nazis have a big presence in this neighborhood, they're out tagging things with their symbols" they don't make the connection that it's meant to be a comment on the specific tagged thing

Reading Heart of Darkness. Exceptionally problematic on multiple fronts but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t think the craft was incredible. Like Blood Meridian, I think this is a basically immoral work with pros that (for me) outweigh the cons. 💙📚 #booksky

Showed my dad Groundhog Day (1993) and he HATED it. Hilarious reaction, imo

Lindy Li, a member of the DNC national finance committee and top level consultant on the Harris campaign flipped to the GOP as soon as Harris lost. That's why you fucking lost. You have grifter Republicans running your campaigns pretending to be Dems. She's even defending Pete Hegseth.

I do have some insecurities that these slimy little weirdos could probably find if they wanted to but instead they just project their own on me and I never have them 😂

At a gay bar in New Orleans just before I’m gonna eat a big sandwich, all my problems are solved finally

my new book SIMPLICITY is about a timid trans academic in the near future treks into the wilds of upstate new york to study a cult and winds up with way more than he bargained for. it’s is out 7/29. preorder it from your local! simplicitybook.xyz

Dennis Reynolds is a very sick man (watching the hs reunion episodes)

Great

BREAKING: Mexican President Sheinbaum argues that if cartels are deemed terrorist orgs, then the suppliers of weapons—over 74% of which come FROM the U.S.—should ALSO face accountability for enabling terrorism. As a result, Mexico is expanding its lawsuit targeting U.S gun manufacturers. 🇲🇽

In light of everything happening, I wrote about how the KKK in the 1920s felt unstoppable, about the people that fought against them anyway, and about how fascism always fails. dansinker.com/posts/202…

I wish more people knew about the 1920s Klan because they—perhaps more than European fascists—are the model for Trumpism. This is a good summary and a nice reminder that they do a lot of damage, but in the end, fascists always lose.

don bongino is revved up and ready to investigate the mystery of why his water keeps getting stolen out of his sink

To me, a Nazi salute means, "I want to murder your family." There can be no irony about it: It puts deep anger and hatred in my heart to see it done and I will never forgive anyone who justifies or minimizes it.

the kids are alright

5 years ago tonight. Joke was on us, Boomers burnt it down.

UPDATE: My Black SFFH/Student Midwife (Class of 2025) life is evolving! $5923 is the last of a 2.5 yr campaign to get me through school and stock my midwifery bags. I turned my life flip upside down because safe inclusive care is always scarce for Black people but Dobbs+The Moment will kill more.

Human beings deserve human rights. All of them. Even ones whose governments and/or representative bodies commit atrocities. Even ones who--yes-- commit atrocities themselves. You don't lose your right to human rights, ever. That's why they're called inalienable human rights.

Watched Capote (2005) last night. Suffers from some of the issues that plague all biopics but it’s a very good story with an astounding performance in the center.

Hoping for a return from Hank in the upcoming oscar special m.youtube.com/watch?v=PgSU...

We have to understand that punching nazis is the minimum. Their own ethos dictates that ultimately we have to go all the way. We must accept this

Sometimes I get invited to speak in corporate/industry spaces & I always give them a chance to check out my stuff in advance to make really sure they're meaning to ask *me*, & sometimes they still say yes so then I go tell them that to get anything like "ethical AI" every value in "AI" has to change

I’m so dumb, I legitimately thought Kamala might win just based off the vibes of Kendrick destroying Drake. Like one national nightmare was over, why not the other? Lol, lmao

they are posting luigi’s ankle porn on reddit and I didn’t want y’all to miss out

The mental leaps, the logical pretzels, the sheer effort that some people in the media are going to have to come up with to avoid naming the most obvious fucking reason in the universe all this stuff is happening

Its been nice to see town halls around the country demanding answers from their conservative reps. Keep that energy going.

Pour it on, folks. And take photos and videos to show the rest of the country they’re not alone in this fight. Fight, share, inspire, repeat.

Reading some of Cervantes’ short stories in Exemplary Stories. Have yet to really click with him (also read the first half of Don Quixote.) Obviously he’s incredibly important but I feel like something is lost in translation from Spanish 🤷🏽‍♂️ 💙📚 #booksky

its so cool how the american liberal order destroyed the communist movement and now we have to look at this until we die
