Following voters' rejection of Measure 2 last month, Alaska will remain one of only two states with ranked-choice voting, alongside Maine. It will be the only state with an open primary system, since Maine still uses partisan primaries. boltsmag.org/alaska-...

This is a HUGE victory for reform of a broken system. I expect Alaska will continue to elect less-extreme lawmakers, just as we've seen there since Alaskans chose #FinalFourVoting in 2020. The recount is over. Alaska will keep #RankedChoiceVoting. alaskapublic.org/2024/12/09/t...

The @washingtonpost.com gets this right. The setbacks in some state referenda were unfortunate, but people who try #RankedChoiceVoting like it and want to keep it. It doesn’t favor either party over the other. It doesn’t fix every problem either, but it makes politics better. wapo.st/49aZAyZ

Some Republicans are accusing Libertarian Tom Pruss of “spoiling” the close race in Ohio’s 9th District. But there’s a simple solution: #InstantRunoffs with #RankedChoiceVoting would allow Ohioans to vote their conscience without fear of spoilers. rtvo.org/action

At this point, I'm just glad the conversation about #ProportionalRepresentation is happening. The current system is broken; let's at least start looking at the alternatives. “Skepticism About Proportional Representation for Congress” electionlawblog.org?p=147474

The movement of which I'm a part is licking its wounds after losing many state initiatives. These are excellent reforms, but the foundational support hadn't been built. Alaska and Maine remain excellent test cases of these reforms. #OpenPrimaries #RankedChoiceVoting foxillinois.com/news/nation-...

Alaska's vote to keep #RankedChoiceVoting shows what we already know from cities with #RCV: Voters who try #InstantRunoffs like having more choice and more voice! We're $12k away from our $40k matching goal. Can you help while your dollars are doubled? ▶️ rtvo.org/donate
