I think at this point, the Biden staffers who continue to say things like this are not cynically angling to cover their reputations. I think they’re genuinely delusional

i am at the point where i think the next D who wants to be president needs to kick the shit out of these people, rhetorically; because they simply will not shut up and go away, for one thing, and because Biden is an incredibly unpopular figure and separating from him will pay dividends, for another

In modern history, what is the least popular that party leaders have ever been to their OWN voters? Second place was the GOP in 2009, where their net approval with Republican voters was only +6. Currently Dems are -8, shattering all previous records.

yep. this is it. this is what it’s going to take. this is the energy the party needs to feel from the grassroots. “make them outlaw you. we will stand behind you. we will be there with you. i will get arrested with you.”

Sharing more townhall videos today because they’re giving me hope. THIS is good trouble! Who is this man? I want to shake his hand and buy him a drink.

there are a lot of white people in journalism who are themselves not consciously bigoted but whose desire to never have to talk about race vastly exceeds their dedication to opposing racism

It may not be cool or hip in some circles, but we legitimately do need a massive amount of people to run for office. Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc. Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.

Rashida Tlaib refused to endorse Joe Biden. In 2020.

I was set to launch my book at the Carter Library next month. This week, we were told all events now need approval from the National Archives. The next day, my event was forced to relocate. A book about the working homeless. A book about civil rights. Apparently these topics are now off limits.

why is it so incredibly hard for me to find pants that i think fit well for more than like 1 day

Coming around to the view that a certain kind of narcissist simply needs Musk to be a genius rather than a fraud, because they want to believe there’s a hereditary Brahmin class of accomplished, beautiful minds—and that they’re a part of that class.

On the cutting room floor is the bit where the host introduced their interview series, The Interview, and I asked how long it took to come up with the name. Anyway, here’s me talking about birds and science and burnout and moving through the world. The photo’s nice! www.nytimes.com/2025/02/22/m...

an impressive two-for in terms of being blasphemous heresy: this dishonors both the flag and christianity. peak performance.

UPDATE: Meta is continuing to censor anti-Musk ads. It has removed a Facebook ad calling for a boycott of Tesla, saying that it violates the company's policy on "unacceptable business practices" muskwatch.com/subscribe

The attacks on DEI are a pretext for a much more radical agenda of reversing the gains of the civil rights movement, an objective the Trump administration is pursuing with zeal. A Great Resegregation. www.theatlantic.com/politics/arc...

Impossible to overstate that Pitt and its constellation of medical institutions are the entire economy here.

Gift link. A small unelected, secretive crew now has free access to sensitive private data of everyone. And Musk is already publicly targeting family members of judges who rule against the administration. If this isn’t ringing alarm bells, I don’t know what would. www.nytimes.com/2025/02/21/o...
