@pmiscove.bsky.social Is it safe to assume you've already seen I LIKE MOVIES?

Wondering why Kristi Noem had $3000 in her handbag?

Dorit Kemsley would like to have a word. #RHOBH

They had lawyers, trials, most were given pretrial release, allowed to testify in their own defense, got discovery, could call witnesses, could cross-examine witnesses, could present mitigation at sentencing, and had a right to appeal.

Boston Marathon legends Bill Rodgers and Bob Hall, who serve as this year’s grand marshals, cross the finish line at the 129th race. https://www.wcvb.com/article/2025-boston-marathon-grand-marshals-bob-hall-bill-rodgers/64354033

I love my Senator Murphy! A "pugilistic populist" indeed. ctmirror.org/2025/04/20/c...

🧪 Tip: You have the right to contest a grant termination, even though NSF says you don't. 🧵 On Friday, NSF terminated 402 grants (per Musk's DOGE). The notification letters had one of the most egregious violations of fed regulations I've seen so far in these cases: "not subject to appeal"

Buy this book. For some good times, watch as many of the movies discussed in it as you can find. 📽️ #FilmSky

Some films age well. Some are way better than reviews/RottenTomatoes scores from their release time would suggest. #NowWatching MULHOLLAND FALLS, a neo-noir with a great cast. Just because it isn't as good as CHINATOWN and L.A. CONFIDENTIAL doesn't mean it isn't worth seeing. 📽️ #FilmSky

Joachim Trier Summer? The feeling when summer is for everyone but you…and everything is just reminder that it’s going to end soon. “They’ll drain the pool tomorrow.”

Love when a new issue of Wesleyan University Magazine comes together, especially when I had time to write an article on one of our many impressive alum working in theatre. On Broadway producer Jeffrey Richards: www.wesleyan.edu/about/news/2... #TheaterSKY

At the theater this afternoon to see THE BALLAD OF WALLIS ISLAND, we saw a trailer for Celine Song's new film THE MATERIALISTS. It looks like fun, and I suspect it will be a big hit. Incredible cast in Song's follow-up to PAST LIVES. 📽️ #FilmSky

Saw THE BALLAD OF WALLIS ISLAND this afternoon. Lovely little picture. I admit it: I can be a bit of a Charles in my fandom. 📽️ #FilmSky

It's weird when one tries to post something helpful and is replied to with derision. I tried. And then I blocked.

"Pope Francis skipped the Vatican’s official meeting with Vice President JD Vance Saturday, instead having his No. 2 give the vice president a lecture on compassion, according to a Vatican statement."

If you're non-disabled and are furious about recent ableist comments, one material thing you can do is ask disabled and chronically ill people in your life if they need help with anything. They may say no and respect that, but we live in an ableist society where asking for help is hard.

Reported earlier today that a new DOGEr, Roland Tenglong Shen, who works at Thiel-backed payments company Ramp, is now at Treasury's central payments hub. A request for comment through LinkedIn went unanswered and now Shen's LinkedIn profile has disappeared. talkingpointsmemo.com/edblog/rampi...
