I think it's bad that the country is led by people who haven't had a real problem in their entire lives and couldn't get a regular job due to being too weird

Here's the reality: they've backed themselves into a corner. If they bring him home there will be hell to pay. It's clear that they believe that the lesser hell is not bringing him home.
