Big old... quite old stack of books. I will be looking at each one of these lovely things over the next year. So, if you like books from the 1800s and 1900s, it might be fun! I will also be posting artefacts and other interesting things as I ramp my sm back up. So, come with me on a journey!

#OTD 1875 The aerophore, an apparatus to enable a person to enter a noxious, inflammable atmosphere, was successfully tested at #Chatham over 2 days. Invented by Louis Denayrouze, a naval lieutenant, it comprised an air-pump, lamp, and flexible tubing.

Car had gone fluffy with frost! Any way, sorted the library bit and some good old book pics from some very rare books will turn up soon! Here's a fluffy car top in the meantime. #frost

My attempt at photography of the Moon and Venus, with my phone. Looks kinda festive.

OK... Big tidy up of the office space today. Which includes the library... I hope I don't find any spiders. πŸ•·πŸ•ΈπŸ˜ Think of a witch/wizard room (yes, there's a skull and other strange stuff, also a black cat) that has been left for 1000 years. Where did all the stuff come from!?

F***k off 2024 and what the f***k you looking at 2025?

Think I'm going to re-take up doing art work, as a chill side hustle. (Sorry for the massive watermark, ya know how it is on the Internet).

I really need to update the book collection piccy. Keep an eye out for exploration of each book over time as I reboot my social media!

One of my favourite 1876 project pictures! Can you tell what is original and what is reproduction? Answers in alt text. I will cover each item over time on here ☺️

Yearly reminder... It's 1868 and 'Santa' as we know him is shown selling Sugar Plums. Coca-cola did not... I repeat did NOT invent Santa as we know him. Coca-cola was first introduced in 1886.

And 'of course, I will post some pics of Canterbury cathedral at night.

Ahh what exotic medieval city is this? A view down the city river edged with ancient buildings... Yup, it's Canterbury! And I was on may way to the cathedral for some evening carols by candle light. How often does one get to do that? (once a year for me).

Pussy cat keeping warm!

Part two of the tale! Now Christmas has begun πŸŽ„

Whooop! And joy! It's Christmas time! And welcome to a touch of a Victorian festive gift from 1876! This lovely book would have brought joy to many we will never know. So, let's enjoy a bit of christmas fun over December along with those who did before us in 1876. #Victorian #Christmas #History

Public service announcement that Charles Booth's 'Maps Descriptive of London Poverty, 1898-9' have been uploaded by LSE archive online to be viewed and reproduced freely. πŸ—ƒοΈ unsplash.com/collections/...

Canterbury Cathedral just so happens to be out there. Soooo here's a picture! Not a bad place to mooch and chill out of the way of the city centre.

Big nope from the cat.
