Alarming.

I have long believed that not enough has been written about how GOP members have felt physically intimidated by Trump supporters. It doesn’t excuse their cowardice, but it still deserves more attention.

Tyranny requires your fear, your silence, and your compliance. Democracy requires your courage.

Pritzker: If we don’t want to repeat history, then for god’s sake, in this moment, we better be strong enough to learn from it.

So heartbreaking and infuriating to think of the people complicit in creating this atmosphere that led to this poor girl's death.

I would be shocked if Pete Buttigieg was interested in serving as a press secretary. His voice is critical & he's extremely effective, but he's not a "staffer." He's a leader. If he finds a way to get his voice heard routinely, that's great, and we will all benefit. But it won't be as a press sec.

Pritzker's been great. He does have the advantage of being in office now & so can do regular media hits w/out needing an artificial & again, somewhat below his stature position being created. Buttigieg, Pritzker, AOC, Raskin, Crockett, Warren, Whitehouse, Wyden among others, have all been effective.

I would like to say the legal community nationally embrace these prosecutors for maintaining their professional ethics and oaths in the face of enormous pressure and offer them all jobs.

It actually needs to be the most effective, prepared communicators for the Democrats - not everyone.

While @petebuttigieg.bsky.social is, at all times, extremely effective as a communicator, if he aspires to anything in his career, it's likely to be POTUS. You are not going to entice away from his family time w/ an offer to be a paid staffer. (He was just Sec. of Transportation, for Heaven's sake.)
