#booksky #mystery #series I'm currently binging this series (Audio). Every book is different and highly detailed. It's definitely not cookie cutter! I really liked this one because it provided a lot of insight into the background of the main character, DCI Craig Gillard.

#booksky #historicalfiction #review While, I didn't particularly care for the occasional shallowness of the main character and some of the more cartoonish supporting characters, I thought that the horrors of war and fanaticism came through loud and clear. I found the book engrossing and riveting.

#booksky #paranormal #magic #SpellboundEverAfter 4.5 stars. It takes just the right amount of magic to create an absolutely charming paranormal series. Annabel Chase has found the right spells. Absolutely delightful.

#booksky #historicalfiction #audio Enthralling post civil war account of the effects of separation and slavery on a family and town in Louisiana. 4 solid stars.

#booksky #Native #fiction Powerful. Poetic. Emotionally draining. Truth.

#booksky #series #mystery Generally Love this series but thought this book was just okay. Disappointed.

#booksky #mystery #thriller #read #series Creepy and fast paced page turner. 4 stars

#booksky #LongIsland #bestseller #read #goodreads 4 stars While I didn't love this one, I do respect it for its craftsmanship. Compared with the brightness of Brooklyn, the book is dull, listless, but this reflects the lives of the characters 20 years beyond the brightness of Brooklyn.

#booksky #aworldofcuriosities #read #mystery #series A very cheery title for a very dark book that explores the theme of nature vs. nuture. Absolutely loved it! Louise Penny gets better and better.

#read #theycallherdirtysally #literaryfiction #booksky The first third of the book was riddled with overblown similes and metaphors. However, there were also flashes of brilliant writing. Once the writing settled down into a more serious style, the book was very, very good. 4 stars.

#booksky #brooklyn Captivating novel about a young Irish woman adapting to life as an immigrant to America in the 1950s. The author does an amazing job of letting the reader into her thoughts and feelings as she matures, finds love, deals with homesickness and family tragedy. 4.5 Stars.

#read #booksky #psychologicalsuspense #gravewaterlake #goodreads #thriller 2.5 stars rounded down. Good: Easy to read, page turner, well constructed, a twist I didn't see coming. Bad: Amnesia trope PLUS trapped in a snowstorm trope, lack of character depth/relationships, unbelievable storyline.

#booksky #thewinemakerswife #historicalfiction Love, lies and consequences during World War II, set one winemaking family on a path of deception that takes decades to unravel. I found myself getting a bit impatient with the earlier of the two dual timelines and wanted more depth. 3.8 Stars.

#read #booksky #BitterPassage #historicalfiction #Goodreads Well-researched fictional account of the search for explorer John Franklin. Not for the faint of heart.

#read #historicalfiction #womensfiction #booksky I was already a fan of Kate Quinn's previous work, and then the Briar Club topped them all. Well researched, marvelously realistic characters, true-to-life situations...This book had them all. Book - 5 golden, shiny stars. Excellent narration.

#read #crime #fiction #thriller #mystery #booksky A solid 4/5 Stars. This book is more character than plot driven. The main character, Sally, was quite interesting and I liked following her emotional growth through the story. The characters stayed with me after closing the book.

It was fun to find The Martian Contingency on this list. Thank you @reactorsff.bsky.social. reactormag.com/30-sff-title... #ladyastronaut

Book pre-orders are an indication of reader interest in a title. They demonstrate to publishers and booksellers that working with the author and stocking their books is a wise choice. So, if you love an author's work, consider pre-ordering and/or asking your local library to shelve the book.

#booksky #literaryfiction #mystery #fable #goodreads The edges of the small town are crumbling into the sea; the characters are crumbling into their damaged lives. I was absolutely blown away by this book. It's not a happy or "fun" read, but it pulled me in relentlessly.

#Read, #3stars, #psychologicalsuspense, #booksky In the current bevy of amazing psychological suspense books, full of twists and turns, this one had more of an S-curve. I kept waiting for something to surprise me, but it never did. I listened to the audio edition.
