Truly lawless statement from the WH PressSec: "He is the executive of the executive branch & therefore he has the power to fire anyone within the executive branch that he wishes to." Nope. Civil servants have const due process rights. Can't be fired for political reasons or bc Trump feels like it.

I don’t want to be a chicken (ha) about this or ruffle anyone’s feathers (lol), but the Trump administration is gonna fuck bird flu up so badly that you might want to fly the coop (😀)

Pete Hegseth’s whole thing about DEI undermining merit is so funny because of how dramatically unqualified he is to run the DoD.

the 'they're all corrupt, nothing matters' attitude is one of the reasons Russia is a godawful place and it's very worrying how much it's spreading in the United States

Pete Hegseth, generously, is barely employable and there are sitting senators going "I mean hey, who doesn't show up to work drunk and get divorced for cheating on their wife, am I right fellas"

Rep. Nancy Mace asked rep. Jasmine Crockett if she wanted to “take it outside” during a heated debate about trans rights. Mace’s comment was effectively brushed off by committee chair Rep. James Comer, and Mace has received no punishment for her clear threat to Crockett.

at this point i wish alito would just fess up and say yes, he’s colluding with trump because he does not believe a republican president ought to be held accountable for anything

someone in that semafor “what we got wrong” referred to trump’s “totalizing victory” and i think it is swell how people are pretending like this is 1984

I can’t read another op-ed in the New York Times written by a white man that tells me that Trump isn’t *that* threatening to democracy. They seem to forget (or are willfully omitting) that this time is very different from the last.

Fun to listen to my professor, whom I admire very much, talk about his absolutely atrocious opinions on television. It’s nice to know that accomplished academics can enjoy Love is Blind.

It's all tied together and don't let them trick you into thinking it's for safety

I don’t think it’s an exaggeration to say that the “Department of Government Efficiency” has a distinctly anti-democratic ring to it… Particularly when billionaires like Musk and Theil have criticized democracy in the past for being inefficient.
