It's a weird British newsstand thing (the comics in the 2000-2001 Robot Wars Magazine, to be precise) but that's a good rule of thumb regarding direct market stuff, thank you!

Both the Hartnell books by David Whittaker are great, and I've got a soft spot for Genesis of the Daleks by ya boy Terrance Dicks. Power of the Daleks by John Peel is also fab and sort of a Target Book, but it is kind of pricey!

But then it descends into your clichéd superhero "my son who I thought was dead is alive again now and wants to kill me" rubbish, plus a nice dollop of "this bad guy is the way he is because his dad was mean to him as a kid". A shame!
