Are you ready?

They don't want to teach history so they can repeat it.

Welcome home Leonard.

This morning, we won a court order blocking Elon Musk, the world’s richest man, from accessing Americans’ private data. Musk and his DOGE employees must destroy all records they've obtained. I've said it before, and I'll say it again: no one is above the law.

In light of Trump II’s predictably cruel and bonkers beginning, many people are asking: “What can I do now?” Here are 10 recommendations. robertreich.substack.com/p/what-you-c...

“The country is not a Trump rally. And the country appears to be repulsed by the very first big thing Donald Trump has done in his new presidential term.” @maddow.msnbc.com on Trump alienating his allies after pardoning Jan. 6 rioters. WATCH: youtu.be/idyyfj2XB-E

Trump has withdrawn the US from the World Health Organization. The WHO: “For over seven decades, WHO and the USA have saved countless lives and protected Americans and all people from health threat.” www.reuters.com/world/us/tru...

"Together we stand!" @raskin.house.gov and @aoc.bsky.social showing America how to work together.

I don’t know who made this but great job

We now confront the unprecedented problem of an unelected South African half-trillionaire holding hostage an unstable and vengeful president with a thermonuclear arsenal and a barely Republican (221-214) Congress as the rough beast of tyranny slouches toward Bethlehem. What could possibly go wrong?

Great advice.

Great advice from @jenrubin.bsky.social today. www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/202...

Bravo for @harrylitman.bsky.social’s selfless decision to resign the LA Times in protest. “The existential stakes for our democracy that Trump’s second term poses” make Soon-Shiong’s “currying favor with the President-elect . . . repugnant and dangerous.” harrylitman.substack.com/p/why-i-just...

“The malice of the wicked was reinforced by the weakness of the virtuous.” -Winston Churchill

How to resist

Donald has gotten away with one of the greatest crimes against America. Despite the disastrous failures of Republicans, Merrick Garland, and SCOTUS, we must remember those who suffered on Jan 6 and continue to fight for justice—for them and our democracy. www.marytrump.org/p/above-the-...

"Tolerance becomes a crime when applied to evil." Thomas Mann

Donald Trump has picked Project 2025 architect Russell Vought to lead the Office of Management and Budget. In Trump's first term, Vought crafted budget proposals that recommended Social Security and Medicare cuts. Your reminder that Project 2025 was always the MAGA agenda.

When I warned repeatedly that Trump intended to go after the free press in a 2nd term I wasn’t just talking about things like jailing journalists who refuse to reveal leakers or FCC harassment. I was talking about things like this. But they didn’t think it would happen to them.

Bob Woodward is one of America's greatest journalists whose career was born in the bile of nefarious dealings by the White House. He's as skeptical as a journalist can be because he knows that what the White House hides is monstrous. Only Joe Biden could make him report THIS:

#Wicked

This is a very important point. Please let everyone know.

One of the things I still don’t understand is how these tech bros can be pro-technology and anti science.

They have no idea that tariffs will make everything more expensive

We keep saying this was going to happen. I feel like I’m going insane

I guess since Trump is appointing everyone who worked on Project 2025 he must’ve just heard about it.

Why do so many feel like they've fallen behind? It's not because of immigrants, trans people, the “deep state,” or any other bogeyman trotted out by the GOP. It's because big corporations and billionaires have rigged markets and siphoned off most of the economy's gains

Pete Hegseth’s tattoos are the ones that white nationalists get. Federal law enforcement know these symbols well. Hegseth was banned from national guard duty at Biden’s inauguration for those tattoos. The Senate should consider this disqualifying for a nominee for Secretary of Defense—will they?

"While pundits have busied themselves over the past 10 days nitpicking Kamala Harris’s campaign, one thing is abundantly clear: She was held to the highest standards of leadership while Trump was held to no standard at all."

MAGA Republicans do not have a mandate to govern as they wish and deep down, they know it. This is why even after a narrow win they want to preemptively quash any dissent. Whether it be abortion, birth control, marriage, schools, libraries, or now it seems, voting, they demand total submission.

"It's natural to be distressed or upset, but what you shouldn't be is anxious or lonely, because that's the state which makes authoritarianism possible," says @timothysnyder.bsky.social. "[Trump] can't do it on his own. He can't do it without us." #Velshi www.msnbc.com/ali-velshi/w...

To be politically engaged is to not only risk losing, but to be prepared and willing to lose. The outcome of this election does not mean the end of the fight. Today's setbacks are tomorrow's comebacks. And the comeback is our work now. #Velshi www.msnbc.com/ali-velshi/w...

"History isn’t necessarily comforting, but it should be inspirational," says historian Jon Meacham of moving past post-election worries. "There was never a 'once upon time' in American history, and there’s never going to be a 'happily ever after.'" #Velshi www.msnbc.com/ali-velshi/w...

So the richest man in the world spent $130 million to elect Donald Trump. Now he's being put in charge of a "government efficiency" agency while controlling corporations with billions in government contracts that are also under federal investigations. See how this works?

Never forget this: The GOP’s nonsensical culture war is meant to distract you from corporate corruption, worker oppression, and staggering wealth inequality.

A handful of billionaires now have unprecedented control over banking, the food we eat, the health care we can access and, now, the information we receive. This is what oligarchy looks like.
