I don't watch a lot of TV, but I used an Apple TV trial to watch Severance and I now feel permanently on edge

My (stolen) mantra that teachers should also be students has been stretched to a new level of karma this year, after I enrolled in an evening class without realising that I would also be required to complete the assessments.

@vgravey.bsky.social and I will be convening a #UACES2025 themed track on #teaching and #learning - see screenshot for details. To find out more about the conference, please visit the @uaces.bsky.social website #EduSky #SoTLsky #TeachLearnSky

Respect to the Politics colleagues who made the argument to me - in the early 2000s - that celebrity politics was the coming thing. The two realms are now fused. www.nytimes.com/2024/11/19/u...

🚨Warning: Elon Musk A record of Musk's commentary on UK politics since 13 Nov, when he was appointed Trump's efficiency tsar The analysis suggests an uptick in vitriolic commentary from the preceding period, and a return to the conspiracy-laden remarks that characterised Musk's summer criticism 1/

I wrote about Moldova's presidential elections and EU referendum, the Kremlin-financed vote buying, and the lessons that PAS is taking into the parliamentary elections next year for @lseeuroppblog.bsky.social blogs.lse.ac.uk/europpblog/2...

Was lucky enough to see this final episode of Taskmaster being recorded, and it's fascinating to see it speed by with 75% less chat. Be grateful for some of the stuff cut from Rosie's prize task discussion... #Taskmaster

My take on the #BookerPrize this year is that Stoneyard Devotional absolutely slaps. The Safekeep could be better, but slaps. Orbital will be marmite, captivated me for the first half. Held is for those gifted with patience.

In memory of badass University logos, rebranded too soon

This week I'll be talking to students about celebrity endorsements during UK GE2015. This will be the third year in a row. The first time, it felt a bit like guiding students through a faded map full of names they didn't recognise. Now, it feels like opening a cursed time capsule.
