It's a joy to see that more and more apps I use are becoming available through @accrescent.app

"History will remember this day— when an American President and Vice President abandoned all we stand for."

securitylab.amnesty.org/latest/2025/... Amnesty International’s Security Lab has a post about 3 vulnerabilities exploited by Cellebrite to extract data from locked Android devices. GrapheneOS blocked exploiting these vulnerabilities in multiple different ways. We also patched them much earlier.

With a heavy heart, we must admit that putin has succeeded in winning the US election this time.

In response to the UK's demands for a backdoor, Apple has stopped offering users in the UK Advanced Data Protection, which provides end-to-end encryption for backups and files. www.eff.org/deeplinks/20...

The Chornobyl NPP was attacked by russians today. A UAV with a high-explosive warhead struck the shelter of Reactor Unit 4, which protects the world from radiation. The shelter has been significantly damaged. The fire has been extinguished. As of now, radiation levels have not increased.

Secret UK order requires blanket access to protected cloud backups around the world, which if implemented would undermine Apple’s privacy pledge to its users. Some of us have been waiting for this showdown since 2016 when the Snoopers' Charter was passed. www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2...

Today @web3privacy.info has officially announced: "Long-awaited Privacy awards of the year results are here! Project of the year winner: @grapheneos.org "

Today, the russians launched a massive information campaign about alleged political protests against the president in the streets of Kyiv and a supposed split in society. This is a deception, mainly using TikTok, Twitter, and Telegram.

Someone has hijacked the Tor Project's X/Twitter account and is advertising a Tor Coin crypto scam, in case you're wondering how things are going in the Bad Place.

I’m amazed by the Germans’ love of nature. Everyone here recycles their trash and cares about the air. Not far from here, russians are bombing Ukraine every day with missiles and bombs. They’ve seized the largest nuclear power plant in Europe. Europe can no longer be saved simply by sorting garbage

This is a message from a regular Ukrainian orthodontist to their patients: «Dear patients, unfortunately, a Shahed hit my building, and my apartment has been destroyed. As a result, appointments might be slightly delayed. But I am waiting for everyone. Sorry for the inconvenience»

Holy fuck

We've implemented a system for notifying users when apps use the Play Integrity API. This will help users determine which apps are banning using a non-stock OS. Some of these will still work if they only enforce basic integrity rather than requiring a Google certified device running the stock OS.

GrapheneOS version 2024123000 released: grapheneos.org/releases#202... See the linked release notes for a summary of the improvements over the previous release. Forum discussion thread: discuss.grapheneos.org/d/18611-grap... #GrapheneOS #privacy #security

Happy New Year to you too, guys. Some crypto is heading your way.

Well, learning Rust after JS is a hell of a call. But can be fun with the right approach.

It costs around $50 million every year to ensure Signal is robust and available all over the world for anyone whenever they need it. And as a nonprofit, that money comes from all of you; the people who believe that we all deserve a place to speak freely. signal.org/donate/

We've added an initial section to our site with a list of apps explicitly banning using GrapheneOS via the Play Integrity API with links to their Play Store pages: grapheneos.org/articles/att... We'll gradually expand this list to include many more apps and then we'll link it a lot.

Speed is definitely not one of DNF's strengths.

If Mike wins tomorrow, I will be celebrating. If he loose, I will grief. The point is, I will be drinking anyways. But I prefer to celebrate. Go go Mike!

Location data, harvested from mobile apps, enables law enforcement to monitor individuals through data bought from brokers, often without warrants or oversight.

GrapheneOS based on Android 15 will reach the Stable channel later today. It's very stable already and we've fixed a bunch of upstream bugs including several impacting the stock Pixel OS. We've made 7 official releases based on 15 already and the 8th is going to reach Stable.

Has your OEM updated to Android 15 and provided you with up to the minute firmware, driver and OS security updates? Has your alternate OS got your back covered? What is the status of your 'privacy by design' OS? Remember to be fully patched requires Android 15 as a minimum.

When you build vehicles with remote functionality, you get security and privacy problems like this. For the love of God, please stop building cars with the ability to lock/unlock, stop/start the engine from an app or a website. www.wired.com/story/kia-we...

Just in case you were wondering how bad it is, it is very fucking bad indeed.
