The FTC confirms our scoop about an extraordinary political condition on this ad merger, aimed at preventing "collusion or coordination to direct advertising away from media publishers based on the publishers’ political or ideological viewpoints." www.ftc.gov/news-events/...

Marco Rubio needs to be asked whether he believes his grandfather who remained in the U.S. after receiving a deportation order from our govt should have been treated the way the father of 3 Marines was treated by ICE this weekend in California. ASK HIM. Make him confront his lack of character.

I fear the stakes might be a wee bit higher than this man's political future.

There is always a past tweet…

It’s always great to bet on someone who somehow went bankrupt running a casino.

This is brutal...it's always 2 weeks... .

Apparently “ideological flexibility” is a synonym for rank hypocrisy. “An increase of that magnitude would be a record and underscore the ideological flexibility that many Republicans are willing to embrace when they are in power.”

"This country and its ideals are far bigger than the small-mindedness of those who seek to destroy our rights and freedoms. "America is one big classroom, where we’re learning what really matters." — @elliotkirschner.bsky.social, director of a new documentary about @rbreich.bsky.social teaching

It took 26 paragraphs into this story before any mention of Jan 6???!?? And even then the fact that thousands of violent political terrorists were pardoned by this president received just 1 sentence!!! Do better @nytimes.com

Hope to see this in Canada soon. @RobertReichel.bsky.social is a true Hero for speaking truth to power and for having been a great Secretary in a sane administration. The Last Class film: Tickets on sale now! is.gd/ioJ4eY

Dear Journalists, I would like to share two maps. One is the area where the protests in LA are taking place. The other is the area where the US Constitution is under assault by a tyrannical regime. Any questions on the relative scale of the two stories?

This needs to be repeated.

A terrifying escalation:

We feed you. They hunt us.

I was honored to be recognized for my service as a Muni operator at today’s Board of Supervisors meeting. I’m feeling proud and happy and grateful. Most of all to the school community of Willie Brown Middle, who gifted me the orange hoodie I’m wearing.

You can lie to senators. But you can’t lie to polio.

In the spirit of this great oped, journalists (inc. Goldberg) must recognize that one of Trump’s patterns is: 1. Do something wildly illegal 2. Identify the name of a law 3. Proceed to ignore every limit in that law The pattern is tricking papers into writing “Trump is invoking a rarely used law.”

Apparently it’s a lot easier for the press to show pictures of a few broken windows than to tell the story of the destruction of 250 years of American democracy.

"When we the people rise up, march and peacefully protest, gather in defiance, organize and reach across our many societal divides, we expose their cowardice and bankrupt leadership. "They hate democracy because they fear its power." -- @elliotkirschner.bsky.social

This is more than the cost of all solar energy research and development at the Department of Energy ($318 M).

"In an unusual act of public protest, more than 340 scientists and staff at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) today released a statement charging NIH officials and their superiors with politicizing science." This is what democracy looks like. An act of protest. Please help amplify it!

@elliotkirschner.bsky.social peers Through the Fog: "Watching Trump and Musk pound their chests is to realize that these people will never understand what it means to be connected to something larger than their grievances or appetites of self-interest."

This picture and headline make me furious. The Times makes it seem like Trump is acting responsibly. Notice the verb choice “quell.” We all know it’s BS. He, Miller, and the rest of his tyrannical cabal want to provoke violence.

The verb should be inflame.

“I believe in your capacities. I believe in your commitment. I believe in you.” 💕 THE LAST CLASS film, @imcivicaction.bsky.social Inequality Media Civic Action’s first documentary, about @rbreich.bsky.social Prof. Robert Reich’s final semester of teaching.

Should California then prepare large-scale cancellation of state funding for United States? www.cnn.com/2025/06/06/p...

In 1936, FDR closed out his re-election campaign by bragging to a massive crowd at Madison Square Garden that “organized money” hated him “and I welcome their hatred.” He took 60% of the vote in a 523-8 electoral college landslide. FDR knew having the right enemies could be a useful thing.

Musk?

"We cannot build bananas in America" should be the slogan for this insanity.

The tone is the one you use taking to the drunk idiot bloviating at the end of a bar
