We asked our readers for their stories about buying a home in Ireland. In response, we received dozens of replies from people who felt frustrated, ripped off and in some cases taken advantage of by the professionals they encountered during the process. Read here: http://jrnl.ie/6686056t

Joe Henderson and Horace Silver at the recording of 'Song for My Father'. Van Gelder Studio, New Jersey 1964. #thejazzworld #jazzsky #Music #jazz

Movie you’ve watched more than six times using gifs. (“Hard mode” no Star Wars, Star Trek, or LOTR)

Why do people now have to solve a sphinx’s riddle before they pee? This is absurd and impossible for individuals, workplaces and services to manage. I think we must all just use whatever loo is free from now on. Let these ridiculous idiots have conniptions over it if they want to.

🚨BREAKING NEWS 🚨 We’re now also available on DAB+ Digital Radio as part of the FailteDAB trial. If you’re anywhere on the East coast of Ireland from Dundalk to Wicklow scan your DAB radio and there we are! Let us know where you’re tuned in! More info ➡️8Radio.com

Okay, I hadn’t thought about this before, because of course not, but the main villain in Watership Down has more substance and is a more commanding presence as a leader than Donald Trump . . . and he’s a rabbit.

Twenty radio services are now available on DAB+ in Ireland following the launch of FĂĄilteDAB

Waitrose now has a specific bay for charging your Electric Cat.

If you don’t have this in your record collection, even if it’s stuffed in a box in the loft, you don’t have a record collection. #vinyl

I’m not saying anything but I’ll let you connect the dots. #PopeFrancis

Every time a mobile game gets interrupted with the Temu 'shop like a billionaire' ad screen my brain always replies 'what like a terrible bastard who nobody likes?'

Happy Easter to this great post

One of my fave @vizcomic.bsky.social letters of all time. Happy Easter.

Sitting indoors on a rainy Easter Saturday, remembering that week with clear skies when I caught a tonne of Messiers on my Seestar. M101 - The Pinwheel Galaxy. #astrophotography #messier #seestar @kat-astro-bot.bsky.social

TBH this comment by the author has dramatically reduced my optimism about the "possible signs of alien life" exoplanet result being likely to hold up to further scrutiny. 🤨 (Chris is a prominent astronomer who has written several papers on exoplanets and planetary atmospheres.)

There’s been a recent increase in #astrophotography images of the cosmos on here, so I’ve put together an alt-text checklist to assist with writing. Our Universe is wonderful, so let’s ensure everyone gets to experiences it. 🙏 TY to all the folks who already use alt-text! #accessibility 🔭🧪📸 1/3

For anyone interested in documentary photography…more like a fortress than a police station, the RUC barracks with anti bomb/missile fencing and lookout post at Andersonstown west Belfast in the 1970s… from my old negatives #35mmfilm #photography #documentary #Belfast #Ireland

When Clive Barker was working on the MUMMY remake for Universal in the early '90s, he had a trans character in the script, and when the studio vetoed it, he basically said "I really can't stress how much I don't need to fucking make THE MUMMY" and left.

An astonishing headline reporting on new observations from a team led to Nikku Madhusudhan claims they’ve found ‘hints of life’ on a planet orbiting a dwarf star some 124 light years away. What’s going on? (1/n) www.bbc.co.uk/news/article... 🔭 🧪

The Transgender Equality Network Ireland (TENI) has said it is dismayed by the ruling in the UK, but encouraged by the fact that this narrative has not made its way to Ireland www.rte.ie/news/ireland...

Just put terf on the fire. Am I spelling that right?

For what little it’s worth, I’ve always considered trans women to be women, and I think I’ll just carry on doing that.

No trans people were consulted on this decision that only affects trans people. In fact trans people were actively barred from consulting on this decision that only affects trans people. But transphobic bigots? Oh they got consulted for days. Fucking grim. I'm absolutely fuming.
