When a teacher tells a student to prove a theorem φ, it almost feels like he’s saying, “You believe φ. Now, argue that φ is true.” It just happens to be a particular kind of argument.

Juggling ways to represent sentences in the interrogative mood. The difficulty is that the sentence itself may have to be the same string of symbols, just with a different spoken representation.

I’m sure this is already a thing somehow and I’m just not aware of it because I’m not a physicist, but it would be kind of neat if there were a dataset with information on when and to what extent an explanation of a phenomenon is considered canonical. #physics
