Ok, favourite #GreysAnatomy episode yet - the one where they all eat marijuana cookies. Hilarious.

Only in #GreysAnatomy can an adult trauma surgeon do a paediatric echocardiogram and a paediatric surgeon do a caesarean section. 🙄

Another unrealistic #GreysAnatomy episode. The hospital computer systems went down. Bailey called IT, and an actual person from IT appeared on the ward to help her 5 minutes later. Would never happen in the #NHS

UK: The Times newspaper is looking to hear from people with ME. The form can be filled in here: www.thetimes.com/article/0612... It's possible not everyone would be able to access it at this link #MyalgicEncephalomyelitis #ChronicFatigueSyndrome #MEcfs #CFS #PwME

Today I launched my first Kickstarter with my work for @esteem-acetuk.bsky.social. Its a classroom pack of HIV education. 16 sets of a Routes of HIV transmission card sort. We have tested, reviewed & improved this for the last year and I am so excited to share it www.kickstarter.com/projects/ace...

Alfred didn’t make it. It’s the first time I’ve had to make the agonising decision to euthanise a pet. 0/10, do not recommend #catsky

Please send healing thoughts to my cat Alfred, who has just had to have surgery to repair his pelvis after being hit by a car 2 days ago 😢

Today in #GreysAnatomy Meredith Grey is performing brain surgery on a plane. 17yo: “if this was in the UK she would get a Gold Blue Peter Badge for this” 😂

The radio tells me that a new study has found that people fall asleep quicker if you wear socks to bed. And I'm willing to bet good money that that study did not include perimenopausal women....

The USA is threatening to halt food exports to the UK and Europe? Whatever shall we do without chalky and dry chocolate, plastic cheese, mutated meat products, beer that tastes like swill and awful, awful wine?! I guess we'll just have to make do with what we have.

2020 - Updating my CV so I can return to medicine in a pandemic 2022 - Third Covid infection, which leads to Long Covid 2023-4 - Attempted phased return to work 2025 - Applying for ill-health retirement form as I can no longer work due to #LongCovid

A character in #GreysAnatomy started coughing… Me: “I’m calling it, she’s going to cough up blood” 15yo and 17yo: “blood, blood, blood” *the character coughs up blood* Me: “called it” Teens: “yay!”

Phone call today: Me “Hello” Them “Hello, is that Mr Draeger?” Me “There is no Mr Draeger” T: “Oh, it says Dr. Can I speak to Dr Draeger?” Me: “Because a woman can’t be a doctor?” T: *spluttering* “oh, are you Dr Draeger?” Me: “this phone call’s not going very well for you to be honest” 🙄

#GreysAnatomy - Today the residents are doing a kidney transplant on their own. None of them are transplant surgeons, and the recipient is a child. FFS

Today in #GreysAnatomy three attending are arguing about a patient’s care while operating on said patient, and none of them have had enough sleep. It’s exhausting just watching.

Loved this toilet signage today - in a village hall in Suffolk, UK

Spoiler-free review of #OnyxStorm - such a good book. I laughed (mainly at/with Ridoc), I cried (more than once), the world-building is top-tier, and my goodness Rebecca Yarros is good at writing endings!! #BookSky

No, that's a generator. Gender is a low guttural sound made by a lion

Word of day is ‘unasinous’ (17th century): united in stupidity. A riff on ‘unanimous’: which comes from the Latin for ‘one mind’. ‘Unasinous’ means ‘one ass’.

No that’s a general. Gender is a machine that converts mechanical energy to electricity

I’ve been reading #OnyxStorm for the last 24 hrs (with sleep breaks, obvs) and it is really helping to distract me from *gestures at everything*

This is a very powerful, sobering and yet hugely hopeful thread. Thank you.

Developing a bit of a crush on Alexander from #TheTraitors. He is just so calm and measured. Anyone else?

Your regular reminder: claiming PIP doesn’t put disabled people at an advantage. Disability costs on average £975 extra per month. Repeated evidence from think tanks shows PIP fails to cover these costs. Disability is expensive.
