Random nerdy fun food thing: if you're in a CSA (community supporter agriculture) group, and get a bag of random veg? Bunch of weird root veg? Chop it into little cubes, toss it in a mix of soy, teriyaki and bbq, pile it in a pan a few inches deep, throw it in oven for half hour, toss occasionally.
