Everything was better like this, yet none of it mattered; only this mattered. It was a true connection that could be found nowhere else but here and now. There was nothing to smile about, which had made The Drunk's smile even brighter. There was a joke somewhere that no one else could hear...

"The glass was downed. Buttery vanilla and many other notes were all there, for sure, but moreso, its goodness overtook all. For if this was not good, nothing was. Writing was good, and work was good; but without this, it was all meaningless. The day had lead to this moment again and again." #books

At age 36, it feels like I have had so many experiences that I'm too full to want anymore. But you bet your biscuits I want another coffee.

"Money was vaguely needed, yet it came with the envy of days of past fulfillment. What was gone was gone, and it was to never come back. What was here was here to stay, and it was unfulfilled." -The Drunk, The Gambler, and The Lover

From "The Boy Who Wanted to Be a Deer"

"The Drunk slowly but surely remembered and subsequently why it took so long to remember."

Some things can be ignored for 20 years but not forever.

I'm 6 months sober as of today. Yay!

Every girl in the world deserves FFS. It is nothing short of a science miracle.

"An old book is like having a conversation with an old friend. They've been dead for hundreds of years, but it's the truest talk you've ever had." -The Drunk, The Gambler, and The Lover A transfem novella about loss of identity, disconnection, and a life void of everything but addiction

From "The Boy Who Wanted to Be a Deer"

So glad my anxiety is not at an all-time-high, just the second. What a relief.

"There was passion but no words. A complete story had been captured but without the will to translate it to paper. The writer who did not write was then a waster of time and talent, a retired fire kindler, an admirer of windows, and an icon for all work-shy youth."

“She,” The Lover said with his elbow gently grazing the table away from his body. His arm then parked into place while his heavy head rested in his palm with a single finger to stroke his cheek. “Someone like that is someone who does not stop everything but accelerates it...

“I cannot love. There is nothing to love or even hate. This body cannot love. This body has never loved. How could it love when I feel nothing for no one? No one is more than a bag of flesh to be hung and sold at the butcher's market. No one is anything. No one.” The Drunk The Gambler and The Lover

Does anyone else not care for descriptions in books? It doesn't matter to me what someone looks like or the lavish room or the bustling city. Just give me characters. That's all I want.

"It's humanity that is dead from the neck up. 'Oh, look at me! I have all this wealth and power, come see! Look at the wasteful clutter I now have! Oh, look at me, all of you!'" -The Drunk, The Gambler, and The Lover

Bedtime tea + melatonin. I can finally relax. Thank god. What a day.

No, it's fine. I'm fine. Everything is fine.

Hi, my life is about to implode any day now. How are you?

If you would like a free copy of my transfem novella, just DM me.

"How much is enough? When is enough enough? Is it one million or two?” A subtle smile washed over The Gambler's face. “Allow me to answer your question with another question. Do you want to make money, or do you want to make more money?" -The Drunk, The Gambler, and The Lover

You ever have so much to do that you just decide to take a nap instead?

The best part of my job as an author: It's always these small Discord, Tumblr, or Facebook groups you go to offering your book for free, and instead, they shower you with so much support that you actually feel like you're talking to someone who cares.

Facebook ads used to be a mainstay for book advertisement. Before the news came out last week, I had spent $280 there, and based on the comments, i feel like it was shown to 95% bots. Best solution is and has always been finding authentic communities to share your book with. Oh, and Amazon ads.

oh my god, sophia nailed this. the pre-transition cis dude friendgroups that i've distanced myself from vs those to whom i've remained close pretty much entirely boils down to whether they say shit like "dw, we 'don't even care' that ur trans. we still see u as the same person as always"

Probably my favorite image I had commissioned for my kids book. #art

Add in reading, and you'll be a great writer.

We got any fans of literature in chat? What's your jam?

Has anyone else eaten a block of raw tofu with just a really, really good hot sauce? So good.

With all the news coming out Meta this week, I have decided to pull all my ads for my books on their platforms. I'm not even sure if my books were reaching more humans than bots at this point. And that's the least disturbing part.
