i am once again begging people to look at Nixon & Goldwater's Southern Strategy as the mold for modern American politics. it relied on lies about the state of the country to divorce Republican supporters from reality, and every election cycle required bigger lies to still be effective.

phew, this was a workout. but wires replaced without having to disassemble the engine harness! mow to track down esoteric connectors... your eyes do not deceive you: ultrasound gel works decently as wire-pulling lubricant (yet it's still better as a suppressor ablative).

i finally saw Wild Zero and it fuckin' rocks. a full B-movie embrace of coolness, love, zombies, and ROCK & ROLL!!! it's a wildly based movie, especially for 1999. that was a relatively big year for trans media between this and The Matrix (one had, uh, a bigger box office, tho).

i also did a silly "oh no the flash is so bright haha" shot, except the metering malfunctioned and the flash fired its full 1/1 power into my face from like 4ft away good thing i had the softbox and bare head on, not the fresnel!

urrrrgh... this is exactly why i didn't want to inspect the S4's wiring harness, and exactly why i knew i had to. these are the secondary air pump wires, which go from one of the furthest points all the way back to the ECU relays. i am NOT disassembling the harness... i'll run a new wire (sigh).

ah damn, i screwed around and accidentally took a hot photo of myself i wanted a new self-portrait for a DJ event, and used it to practice balancing colored LEDs with a TTL flash. i put the flash around -1.7 to -2.7 EV @ ISO 400 to get the LEDs, and it looks good! still need to work on DoF, tho.

i joined Instagram for DJ stuff, and it's amazing how it finds new ways to disappoint me. i get that IG depends on dark UX patterns to ensnare people into vapid, endless scrolling, but does it also have to be a buggy and fractured? the lack of polish is incredible given their budget and staff!
