Finished week 7 of the Montana legislature and honestly, it was pretty good overall. - Dems blocked a school voucher scam program - A Republican voted NO on an anti-trans bill (a first this session in the House) - Medicaid expansion is on track to pass the senate - We got some great court wins

I just found out that my new son-in-law got elected to the Vestry in their church and is attending his first Vestry Retreat tomorrow and I feel all proud, which is both adorable & hilarious. The “awkward campus ministries couple” to “married vestry member” pipeline is in full force up there! ⚓️

Y’all, we had the first meeting of a “Benedictine Spirituality Book Group” at my church this morning and SEVENTEEN people showed up. Our parish has 8 Benedictine Oblates from various Orders (plus me, 2 weeks into Oblate formation) and this is the first time they’ve come together like this. +

In your compassion, pray for Lee, my sister-in-law’s father. He died this morning, 2 hours ago, almost exactly while I was praying for him during intercessory prayers in Morning Prayer. He was raised Christian Scientist, married to a non-practicing Jewish woman, & was basically agnostic 🕯️
