Warnock: I hear people attack poor people and act like it’s a crime to be poor, rather than to recognize it’s criminal for so many people to be poor. They do all of this in the name of Jesus… Jesus is the biggest victim of identity theft in the United States

No attorney general should ever speak like this. She's Trump's advocate, not the people's lawyer, which is what the AG's job is. Whatever state she is barred in should start disciplinary proceedings immediately. This isn't subtle or arguable, it's wrong.

This is much the same logic as arresting the judge in WI. There is obviously nothing wrong with asking law enforcement, including masked officials, to confirm they are, in fact, law enforcement. The goal is to create an absolutely subservient population.

Animating too much absolutely sensible outrage at Trumpism is an appeal to parental figures who aren’t there. “He should not be allowed”; “He should be arrested”; “This can’t be permitted.” Passive voice, all of which begs, “by whom?” It’s an appeal to an order that has already broken.

Trump orders DOJ to investigate his enemies. Pg. 18.

In previous administrations, this would have been an impeachable scandal.

"Survey results showed that 71 percent of respondents do not believe the GOP senator deserves to be reelected...Among Democrats, 84 percent said she does not deserve to serve another term, with 67 percent of independents and 57 percent of Republicans saying the same."👍 www.msn.com/en-us/news/p...

100 billionaire families spent $2.6 billion in the 2024 election. 70% of these donations went to Republicans. Now, Republicans in Congress are gearing up to slash essential programs to pay for another round of tax cuts for the rich. This is what oligarchy looks like.

This doesn’t create the “appearance” of corruption or set up the “potential” for conflict of interest. It is corruption, and it’s a standing conflict of interest. Patently, and historically.

A shameful, pathetic act, underscored by the fact that the ICE statement was issued by a spokesperson who refused to be identified. Challenging the government is a duty of a free people.

“We are Jewish academics who have devoted our lives to teaching and research on college campuses. If there were a pervasive culture of antisemitism on campuses, we would know about it, and we would fight it. But we have observed no such thing.” No lies detected. academeblog.org/2025/04/25/i...

Rolling Stone: A Venezuelan couple were released after El Paso fed judge David Briones furiously shredded the conduct and claims of ICE agents making the arrest: “The court takes clear offense to respondents wasting judicial resources to admit in court it has no evidence.” 1.

Reup: The arrest of Judge Dugan is not unprecedented -- acting ICE Director Todd Lyons did this in 2019 too. What's new here is FBI didn't even bother finding or alleging the corrupt intent required by the obstruction statute. www.emptywheel.net/2025/04/27/s...

Hello House GOP? Senate GOP? Bueller? Bueller?

Donald Trump is the kingpin of an organized crime organization that goes by the name Republican Party.

Trump is getting killed in the public opinion war over his illegal deportations to El Salvador. Both WaPo and NYT polls find broad opposition to these deportations. And majorities of independents disapprove, a key tell. New piece on why this is happening: newrepublic.com/article/1944...

"If the First Amendment does not apply to speech that merely disagrees with U.S. foreign policy, then it is rendered meaningless in all contexts. By extension, it would not protect dissenting views presented by any of us scribblers in the U.S., foreign or domestic." www.vnews.com/Editorial-Ve...

"We shouldn’t let his blizzard of lawless, immoral, and shocking actions overshadow his selling access to the office of the president... But it seems like we’ve reached a point where corruption is now considered to be an intrinsic part of... our government." www.dailykos.com/stories/2025...

Big win: Federal judges in MD, NH, and DC ruled the Trump regime overstepped when it ordered schools to stop all diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) programs as well as classroom teaching the administration might consider discriminatory. www.npr.org/2025/04/26/n...

Ed Martin makes it easy.

“In an astonishing escalation of the Trump family’s efforts to profit from crypto, a website promoting $TRUMP, the president’s so-called memecoin, announced on Wednesday that the coin’s largest buyers would be invited to meet him… www.nytimes.com/2025/04/23/t...

"Apparently, Trump wasn’t kidding when he told people 2024 was the last election they’d ever have to vote in if he won." open.substack.com/pub/joycevan...

"The most brazenly corrupt thing a President has ever done. Not close.” www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2...

URGENT: This is not a crime A judge has the authority in her courthouse to excuse a defendant for God's sake Trump tried this in 1st term & he was thrown out of court 👉 www.courtlistener.com/docket/14997... PS the violation here was Patel's tweet & that's why he deleted. I'll be filing complaint

So, let's see we have: - Targeted attacks against a judge - Undermining the courts - Unchecked control by the people in power We are living in a full-blown authoritarian crisis.

This is a really important response to the arrest of Judge Hannah Dugan by Kash Patel's lawless FBI. Good on Representative Clancy.

So the Trump admin suddenly yanked visas from thousands of international students—then backtracked only after getting dragged into court. Let’s be clear: they didn’t do the right thing. They got caught doing the wrong thing.

The arrest of Judge Duggan reeks of desperation. They've had a really bad few weeks. Trump's poll numbers have plummeted. Putin & Xi are mocking him. Defiance in the US is growing. The economy is getting worse. They keep getting routed in court. Anything, anything to keep the focus on "illegals."

The Constitution is clear: The president has no right to unilaterally change federal election rules.

Keep speaking up, speaking out, pushing back. The administration has had a bad week because of it.

The Trump administration's intransigence on Abredo Garcia looks more and more like a calculated f*&k-you to the judiciary to try to assert dominance over a co-equal branch of government

The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lets the public freely access gov records—a critical tool for accountability. Slashing CDC’s FOIA team guts transparency, despite RFK Jr.'s supposed commitment to it. Why? Something to hide?? Props to Rep. Gerry Connolly for calling it out.

Remarkable from WaPo poll: Trump sinking fast on immigration among independents. 56% disapprove of handling of issue 62% oppose removing foreign students 52% oppose renditions to El Salvador Only 21% want Abrego Garcia left there Engage, Dems. New piece from me: newrepublic.com/article/1944...

Big news if true & a real confession of error for the administration

"U.S. officials initially sought to resolve Abrego Garcia’s case quietly and ensure his safety through the conventional diplomatic channels they’ve used in other cases involving a mistaken deportation. This time, though, their efforts were abruptly halted." www.theatlantic.com/politics/arc...
