Antisemitism in its late 19th century nationalist formulation is not only a hatred of Jews, but a particular belief about rootless internationalists and migration as a threat to the stability of hard national borders and identities. It can thus be structurally appealing to Jewish nationalists, too.

Yellowjackets is back. But with the state of the world, I honestly worry that I may not be emotionally robust enough to handle this season

Proud to be one of the 350 rabbis signing this statement — an ad in the NYT today and a declaration of our values. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025... For more—and to sign— go to saynotoethniccleansing.org

This should be the easiest statement to make right now. For EVERY Jewish organization and community:

The GOP has a Christian nationalist leading DOD, a guy who suggested COVID was designed to spare Jews probably running HHS, a lady who pushed Great Replacement at the UN, a guy too tied to white supremacists for Trump 1 headed to State, and a guy who podcasted w a Holocaust denier running FBI 1/2

I would like to believe that this is the moment when the American Jewish community as a whole (and not just liberal or leftist orgs) will rise up and say, "This is too far. We will not support Israel if this is their government's policy." I wish I had more faith that would be the case.

Revenge: After the Levoyah. That's it. Sold out. Our DMs wouldn't stop pinging, so we added 5 extra shows. Now they're gone too. Returns only, or try your luck at the door. Good things come to those who queue.

It is *very* important to understand that Jews were never the only target of the 1930s Nazis and they are not the only targets of today’s Nazis. A Nazi salute is not only antisemitic. It is also racist, ableist, and queerphobic.

One effect of legacy American Jewish organizations like the ADL and AJC going so hard into “anti-Zionism is the major form of antisemitism” is that a lot of people now think, “My Zionism means I cannot be antisemitic.” In fact, these positions are perfectly compatible! See also: Orbán, Viktor.

It seems like ADL forgot to unfollow us.

Excited to see this published in the @jwaonline.bsky.social Encyclopedia. jwa.org/encyclopedia... Sharing with one of the photos featured in the article, from the YIVO archives: a group of professional klogerins (mourning women) in Brody 1920s-1930s

There’s a rich, shimmering atmosphere in the room when catching Revenge: After the Levoyah @theyardtheatre.bsky.social; we’re thrown into this story with Lauren (Gemma Barnett) and Dan (Dylan Corbett-Bader) who are both impeccable at comic timing and switching between the most absurd characters 👏

He's a fucking Nazi

'An audacious, irreverent blast of a comedy' ★★★★ Guardian 'Biting and satirical' ★★★★ The Reviews Hub REVENGE: After the Levoyah by NHB author @nickcassenbaum.bsky.social is on @theyardtheatre.bsky.social. Get your playscript copy at the venue, or online: www.nickhernbooks.co.uk/revenge-afte...

Revenge: After the Levoyah has exploded on the stage, and critics can't stop raving 💥 ★★★★★ "Fearless, unfiltered fantasy" & "compulsively watchable". The verdicts are in and they're unanimous. Guns, helicopters, a rabbi-turned-action-hero—what more could you want? 🔗 theyardtheatre.co.uk/revenge

And we’re off. The Women’s Prize for Playwriting is now open for submissions 🏆 Thread below:

We need more public figures like this in the world.

Kyle MacLachlan, who starred in ‘Twin Peaks’ and ‘Blue Velvet,’ wrote a touching tribute to his late friend and director, David Lynch, calling him ‘the best version of human.’

Well, Revenge: After the Levoyah @theyardtheatre.bsky.social is very much fun. Virtuoso full body performances by Gemma Barnett & Dylan Corbett-Bader. Bad bad Jews. Bad everyone else tbh. Horseradish as weaponry. What's not to enjoy?

Tonight we let the chaos loose. It’s press night for Revenge: After the Levoyah. To our brilliant team, you’ve created something electric. The energy you bring to this show is exactly what theatre should be. And London already knows (aka packed houses and tickets moving fast). Critics, buckle up 😈

Hot take but this production of Cabaret is so irresponsible and unrigorous and it’s unbelievably terrible that a Jewish actor has to carry the burden of forcing an audience to confront their antisemitism (outside of the show’s direction, which clearly does not suffice as an intervention)

Here's The Crush Bar's first interview of 2025, with @nickcassenbaum.bsky.social, writer of Revenge: After The Levoyah, which runs @theyardtheatre.bsky.social until Jan 25. A wonderfully silly show about a very serious subject. Read/subscribe: thecrushbar.substack.com/p/i-thought-...

@emmajudeharris.bsky.social just saw Revenge: After the Lehoyah and I am SCREAMING. One of the smartest and funniest hours of theatre I’ve seen for a long time. Just terrific. Congratulations!

Marc Chagall, "Shabbat," from the book "Burning Lights." Gut Shabbos, everyone.

“The first show I have seen that drags my generation’s unique grasp on British Jewish identity… kicking and screaming into the spotlight.” REVENGE: After the Levoyah is one of @exeuntmagazine.bsky.social ones to watch in 2025 👀 theyardtheatre.co.uk/events/revenge-after-the-levoyah

It's our last piece of 2024: Exeunt writers' initial round of recommendations for 2025! From the new new to transfers to Summerhall survivors, and an ode to the glorious, undersung Maureen Beattie, who can be seen in a Caryl Churchill double bill at @rxtheatre.bsky.social Feb - March! HNY, all.

I’m sure we all have thoughts on this but can I please just draw your attention to the £150,000 worth of stolen handbags that the Metropolitan Police say look like this

In the past few days, a constellation of sustained incidents of patriarchal abuse has emerged, connecting a series of otherwise 'unrelated' breaking news stories. I haven't seen anyone connecting these disparate and unfathomable events (yet), but they are related.
