One of my #Finish-it-February projects. The Florist Bolero by Sydney Crabaugh!

It's difficult to choose my favourite Roberta Flack song, but this one would be up there. Legendary, but then again, that's the case with so many of her songs. www.youtube.com/watch?v=z2W1...

On this #FairIsleFriday, I have finally finished knitting my 1940s vest. Now I only have all of the body's weaving in to do...

@themerl.bsky.social You wouldn't happen to know the provenance of this? The note on it says "A pig photobombs a rural wedding, location unknown, but somewhere in England, 1927."

Instant Best Dressed List

I miss The Era of Blogs so I started a new blog, again. Thus far I've only written about knitting and vintage fashion, but it will be about other things, too. emmaseclecticescapades.blogspot.com

So happy to have been painted by Tove Jansson!

My wife's art! ❤️

Housewife, 49: A lovely TV movie based on Nella Last's war-time diaries. We watched it yesterday, and THOROUGHLY enjoyed it. A great depiction of the time, great jumpers, and we were very happy to learn about Clifford Last.

Okay, it might be finally time for some introductions since this is now my main social media channel. I'm Emma, I work as a teacher, I love historical and slow fashion, my main hobby is knitting while watching TV. I'll probably repost pics of farm animals and 1940s dressing gowns.

The Group by Mary McCarthy: The best book I've read in years. Instantly became one of my all-time favourites. Truthful, catty, hilarious, heartbreaking.

Finally got some photos of a male Anna's where the gorget is lit up 🔥

Estonian disco, what a great genre of music.

JUSTICE FOR REINDEER

the simple truth conservatives always ignore

ok let's try this except instead it's the Good Sheep feed

Not gonna lie, I mainly joined BS because X was not an option anymore but I need a place where I can send my wife pics of various farm animals.

In 1942, at the height of the Second World War, Alfred Eisenstaedt photographed sweethearts bidding each other farewell before the men depart for war, not knowing if they'd ever return. These candid shots give us a glimpse of what average Americans wore. Let's look at the details. 🧵
