FF7 has the environmentalism but I think FFX is currently the most politically apt Final Fantasy for this age because its about undying elders leveraging their children’s future for political gain and passing themselves off as a “lesser evil” even as they enable and support a bloated death monster

Can’t help but notice the irony in how XIV never rlly got the budget allocation it deserved, and when it finally did it was at the same time that SE saw XIVs success and pushed a ton of non-xiv projects onto cbu3 They had the crew but not the budget, and then they had the budget but not the crew
