Saw this on Reddit last night. Have any US academics heard of problems with CITI training (human-subjects ethics training required at universities) being inaccessible?

Such a necessary, timely, well-made argument that pulls focus back to where it should be: actual harms. But also, putting Bayesian thinking in its appropriate place by pointing out how using Bayesian statistics is good when you can ground your expectations in actual reality and bad when you cannot.

Lame. Weak. Useless. Cowardly.

Seems like tempting fate for a publication called “The Atlantic” to be so blasé about renaming bodies of water.

One thing Democratic leadership could do right now is to name an alternate HHS secretary--someone to provide ongoing public updates and health information. And do it for other departments too. Start showing voters what a Democratic government would look like--press conferences, speeches, all of it.
