Choosing to monetise your hobbies is one thing and being forced to commodify yourself and every part of your life is another. Personally I don’t want to be a brand, I want to be a human and an artist.

I don’t want to live in a world where people are in jail and barred from work for smoking weed but an unelected man actively abusing ketamine faces no repercussions for illegally seizing all of our data and making decisions that kill hundreds of thousands of people

instagram please let us turn off comment like notifications, it's such a transparent piece of shit design to boost your numbers of how often people use the app even though they're just going in there to empty their inane notification count

ngl this makes me think of the people who talk about how they saw fox news & co warp their parents into unrecognisably cruel strangers. sure, some of these ppl might be co-opting an alt look, but it's just as likely they've been there the whole time, just aren't as decent as they once might've been

photographing your old smart watches to put on ebay without even first cleaning all the grimy wrist grease + dead skin off the back is diabolical 🤢

this weekend i AM going to get my gallery wall sorted finally

Remember, the TrueRef timed gesture tool is 100% free! 🤍 trueref.art/trueref-gest...

Mods are asleep, post Jack Hamm drapery lessons

Are you a Blender/3D artist? I'm looking to commission some 3D work for TrueRef! We want to try out creating 3D rooms that 2D artists can then use as references. Think light and airy anime-style living space. Feel free to contact me here or through trueref.io if interested! Paid of course.

There is no benefits to AI in my coffee maker, and no matter what you do, there never will be benefits to AI in my coffee maker. Hope this helps.

It's so funny because a lot of these things are not "AI", just automation that usually already existed and they rebranded it for more $ to say it gives you more value. Now they're gonna have to admit they lied, or remove functionality and put prices back down.

I follow a blind woman on social media, and she talks a lot about how much she hates "smart" products. Not only do they often ditch buttons she can easily feel for flat, glass touchscreens, but when she loses wifi, suddenly, she can't turn on the stove. Gimme dumb appliances any day.

A ballet called Giselle #ballet #illustration

the r/manchester subreddit is a beautiful place and the way they started this rule made me actually bark out a laugh

important context: it doesn't say when they updated this bit of the TOS (it's not dated like some other pages) but this isn't new, the linked post in the TOS is from july '24 & this was live in dec '24 on the wayback machine also lol lmao eat shit etc @ "Etsy’s mission is to Keep Commerce Human."

look, I don’t have much positive to say about jobs right now. but growing your creative skills is never a waste. in a world that prioritizes “good enough for non-experts” and the simulacra of competence, growing a practice of critical and artistic thought helps you from sliding down into the muck.

SpaceX will eventually get us to space with a pile of debris tall enough to climb out of the stratosphere.

Recent work.

scar's hair looks so good at this length its genuinely tragic he doesn't like it... sir please see the light

god lets plays are miserable to watch since youtube did whatever they did to how videos actually render. why does 1080p look so crunchy

Working on Mother's Day collage hanging cards for my sisters. First one is finished.

Meet Bruce (Lee), my resident blackbird. At the moment, he is honouring his name by spin-kick-pecking any pigeon that dares approach the nest where he and his partner Daisy have just welcomed three tiny peeps. Might have to make him a cute paper hat 🤔 #birdwatching #paperart

Progress on the Spy Family shadow box! It's about to go in its frame 👀 #paperart #art #papercut #wip

Considering putting some originals back in my shop, as one-off pieces, either frames or ready to frame (they would come with the mount, as shown here). Will keep you posted if I do come around to it! #SciArt #PaperArt

Some of the Brood Collection of paper entomology cicadas found homes over the last couple of weeks, but there are still several species left to add to your collection! www.beastieandbone.com/shop/paper-o... #darknature #forestcore #cicada #paperart #artsky

One year already since I created “La Brea Bouquet”… and it found a home at once. 🥲 Prints of it are still available in two sizes, plus some sister pieces in my fossils and flowers line of paper art originals! #darkacademia #fossil #paleoart #artsky #paperart #megafauna

Sometimes I wonder if things happen too early or too late . Perhaps everything happens at exactly the right time. #cutpaper #paperart

Dear "game devs," This is STILL a deal breaker.

made a milk/yoghurt free smoothie and realised a huge error ins storing my pecans in the same basket my baggies of excess spices & herbs live in lmao plastic bags arent barriers yall. i know this. ive been meaning to find a solution to this bc it messes up the h+s's themselves. and yet

i see this spineless twat decided that causing irrevocable damage when the lib dems tanked their entire party's trust and betrayied their entire student voter core by doing a 180 on ending tuition fees and getting into bed with the tories wasn't enough

Let's be entirely clear here. AI companies have broken copyright laws and infringed on Intellectual Property rights on an industrial scale. Why are governments looking to make that retroactively legal? Screw their machines for mass-produced plagiarism. Let generative AI die.

4:40am sleepytime i hate how unreasonable you are

In my experience using LLM tools (it's "encouraged" where I work), what stands out to me the most about it is that it never says "I don't know". It ALWAYS has an answer for everything, and just like humans that act like that, what it says is never trustworthy .

Work requirements hurt poor people AND are a waste of money. Arkansas spent $26 million on administrative costs for work requirements — and saw no increase in employment. Georgia’s program cost $40 million in one year — 80% of that went to administrative and consulting costs.
