My latest @newscientist.com cartoon

Last night’s dream: statues were being made to commemorate the well-known second verse of Humpty Dumpty beginning “Someone farted in the square Marco Polo, he didn’t care”

Met someone yesterday who said “I’m between sunflower dresses at the moment”, and the fact that she’d had one and definitely foresaw another in her future made me smile!

I absolutely refuse to believe that the pheasant who regularly visits my mum and dad’s garden is real and has not in fact been crocheted.

Quite obviously these are the tried and tested methods of clearing a blocked nose

There’s a lot to be said for taking a couple of decades away from tracing your family history and coming back to it… a couple of whole censuses to explore and a whole load of other records that have come online!

So true!

At last the future we were promised is here.

Post a pic of who you wanted to be as a little kid (well, a teenager I suppose)

Fascinating (and important) thread!

I’m sorry but if your students use AI to write papers and you use AI to grade them zero school is happening. You are running together on a hamster wheel

Subtitles: A dance of breeze from Hushabye Mountain Me: Have I been singing this wrong all my life?! Subtitles: And your boat waits down by the key Me: Or the subtitles could be wrong…

And, in colour!

My authentic, non-ai Emma doll

There's a new BMX bike track opening in a park in Glenrothes and I don't know how these things usually look but this one looks like a bloke having a massive boner

Made this collage from a funeral plan leaflet, and the last line made me cackle!

I met a friend of a friend today, and she was almost starstruck as she’s, quite by chance, followed me on Instagram since she moved to Fife years ago! It was suck a lovely moment and I felt so touched!

Me: it was a couple of years ago Also me: …in 2007?!

Not sure whether to smile most at the sentiment, or the irony, of someone graffiti-ing “Don’t b a dick”

It was very good!

This has just reminded me of my boss’s statement this afternoon that “George the Fifth Bridge has reopened!”

A good motto for life!

Extra pillow would be handy, too!

This week is going to be all about @totoroshow.bsky.social and the Moomin shop and @presentcorrect.bsky.social and museums and galleries and bookshops and lots of walking!
