My happy place. Doesn’t look quite like this in February, mind 😅

“There are always flowers for those who want to see them” - Henri Matisse 🌱

Hello! Happy New Year! I had a little break from socials over the festive period but seem to have gained another little flurry of new followers. If you’d like a follow back, say hi below! 👇

The place I had brunch yesterday pulled off the ultimate in Christmas trolling: tucked in amongst their festive playlist of mostly cover versions was the original of - you guessed it… #Whamageddon

Unplugging for a bit over the holidays but popping back with my visitor attraction hat on to request that if you have a great experience somewhere this Christmas, don’t forget to leave a nice review. If it’s not so great but easily fixable, constructive feedback in private is very helpful.

My starter pack on U.K. engineers is still growing- 100 people and organisations up there, now including my own employer @raeng.org.uk and lots more of its awardees and Fellows. Let me know if I’ve missed anyone! go.bsky.app/HZ9n48g

Still writing, still procrastinating, still panicking 🥲

Today, we're holding space for the sphinxes that were meant to sit atop both towers of the #CliftonSuspensionBridge. Because how cool would that have been? 💚

Unpopular opinion: wearing excessive amounts of fragrance in enclosed public spaces is every bit as antisocial as playing audible music/phone sounds 🚌🤧🤢

a starter pack of conservators from various disciplines - please let me know if you'd like to be added, and who I've missed... go.bsky.app/4HjAJJX

Am writing a thing about enthalpy, and reminded of a favourite quote about thermodynamics: "Thermodynamics is a funny subject. The first time you go through it, you don't understand it at all. The second time you go through it, you think you understand it, except for one or two small points...(1/2)

The snow has finally made it to Bristol ❄️⛄️

🌱 I grew a 5kg squash! (That’s a full size kitchen knife) I don’t have a big freezer so now I have about 4.5kg of squash to use up. Tell me your favourite recipes please! 👇

Hello! Time for a proper intro following my (small) influx of followers this week: I’m Nic, she/her, elder millennial. Engineer, previously nuclear power now museum energy efficiency/decarbonisation. Make it your mission to reach out to someone today, a family member you haven't seen in a while, maybe a old friend, or someone you've fallen out with. Perhaps a stranger that needs support or that person who really went out of their way to help. Reaching out is good for you ❤

Every week my amazing colleagues host an “archive in five” lunchtime session, allowing visitors to see an object not normally out on display in the #museums. Now these sessions can be enjoyed on our YouTube channel too - check this week’s out! youtu.be/C_rW0p6hpgQ?...

Thanks to NHSF for inviting me to speak at today’s Strategic Framework for Heritage Science in the UK launch event: www.heritagescienceforum.org.uk/what-we-do/s... Lots of important work in there, particularly interested in the drive to improve access to resources and funding outside of academia 🙌

Hello, we're the Mary Rose Museum! If you're here for the events info, the historical banter or just to look at pretty pictures of Tudor objects recovered from the seabed, we hope you'll stick around! MaryRose.org

Today’s poem is called ‘Monetisation’.

I don’t have any pets but my pics of other people’s animals seem to be more popular than anything else I post on here, so here’s the cat who hangs out at my allotment, for your Thursday morning 🌱

Supposed to be writing a thing - a bigger thing than I’ve written before (I’m not really much of a writer) It’s normal to be alternating between procrastination and panic, right?
