One thing I didn't write but should have: an Uber exec on the task force that sees bike lanes a problem. Those lanes keep their Uber Eats delivery people safe. By coming out against lanes as congestion causes they are really saying they don't care about the safety of their delivery people.

Attention policy makers: As a business owner in Canada, I could take advantage of pretty good tax breaks if I had a car. But I don’t want a car and choose to live where I don’t need one. That’s better for everyone. But there are no tax breaks connected to my public transit pass. That’s bad policy.

When I was first diagnosed with type 2 diabetes my nurse practitioner and I talked about this. She was willing to medically suspend my license just in case of sudden drops\spikes in my blood sugar. My license was set to expire and I just didn't renew instead choosing car-free lifestyle.
