There should be an Aube-style noise/ambient album sourcing the hiss of VHS tapes. I guess the closest we have to that is Aaron Dilloway’s Medusa.

One pet peeve I have with streaming services is that sometimes they don’t immediately have the subtitles on for foreign-language films, forcing you to turn them on yourself. The worst version of this is when you have to do this EVERY TIME it comes back from commercial.

The credit card is such a great invention. A tiny piece of plastic that you’re supposed to entrust a good amount of money on, that vending machines can grab entirely at a moment’s notice, and it can vanish into the other realm when you misplace them. Much better than cash!

I have no idea what I can do to not get so many political posts on my "Discover" timeline. This site desperately needs a politics filter.

Finally got a banner pic. My initial issues with how they do it has not changed. I guess it’s easier on the app than on a tablet screen, but why don’t they make it easier there?

At this point, the coming release of Shrek 2 Retold is the main thing preventing me from giving in to despair.

Absolute bananas that Disney pulled the asshole move of copyrighting the monkey with cymbals (for TOY STORY 3), so no one else can use it, which is why Oz Perkin's The Monkey movie has a monkey with a drum. (learned on The King Cast)

Nothing makes me happier than seeing people legitimately enjoy things. Movie goers getting excited about a film they're looking forward to. Music teachers analyzing songs that bring them to tears. Or just someone really digging a loaf of bread, ya know? Hate has nothing on genuine love.

I’ve seen so many political cartoons and comics on here that I’m not even sure if some "funny" comics aren’t also political in a way.

“I don't think that people accept the fact that life doesn't make sense. I think it makes people terribly uncomfortable.” David Lynch

This film is the very reason I refuse to go on roller coasters. Or anything more intense than the scrambler. And even there, I am wary.

I’ve been hearing so much about Severance that I keep forgetting it’s on Apple TV+, which I’m pretty sure nobody I know has.

I only NOW saw that the John Wiese track was titled "Sad PSYCHICS" and not "Sad PHYSICS". A personal Mandela Effect.

Do you think they’ll attach a teaser for KEEPER to THE MONKEY during its wide release? Both are directed by Oz Perkins, and KEEPER is supposed to come out later this year.

Your age, gender, race, sexuality, religion, disabilities, upringing, does not make you immune to valid criticisms of whatever bad thing you did. Your actions come from your mind and your mind alone.

I hate having to choose between staying informed and saving my mental health from doomscrolling

NEON just keeps going HAM with the marketing to this film. This is serious 60’s/70’s energy, and I love it.

It’s crazy to think that, in a way, we’ll have two Final Destination films coming this year.

The current trend for 2025 horror seems to be body horror. Grafted, The Ugly Stepsister, Together, the wide releases of The Shrouds and The Toxic Avenger reboot, and The Substance getting honest-to-god awards buzz.

I love how NEON’s marketing for THE MONKEY has the opposite tone as LONGLEGS. While that film’s market was cryptic and mysterious, for THE MONKEY, it straight up tells you, in no uncertain words, that you’ll be getting a bloody, bloody film.

One thing Bluesky has taught me is that you seem to REALLY dislike green tea.

FilmTwitter be like "I understand the filmmakers are going for satire with their exaggerated approach to the subject matter, but the lack of tact makes it comes across as exploitative rather than clever. Everyone that disagrees with me is a stupid-head."

It hasn’t even been a week yet. We’re going to need to pace ourselves in order to stay sane.

Had yet another dream about Shrek 2 Retold. This time, I actually saw the film. I must've had like 6 dreams about this film. The only way this could be put to rest is if it finally comes out.

…You know what? This is a case where I’m more than happy to be proven wrong.

Once again, I feel it’s a good time to take a break from social media. Maybe for a couple days, maybe for a week.

As a New Jersey person, I hope it’s not too sacrilegious to say that I don’t really like the Italian Hot Dog. Too much bread, too little dog.

Piano roll of “Laura Palmer’s Theme” from Twin Peaks. The visual representation of two mountain peaks in the music was a “cosmic” coincidence which shocked both Lynch and Badalamenti when they discovered it

On a happier (if rather morbid) note, while I was initially worried that the new trailer for The Monkey would show a good chunk of deaths in the movie, it looks like even the redband trailer refrained from showing much onscreen violence. That’s a relief.

David Lynch was a singular force in filmmaking. Nobody could capture the surreal and twisted side of Americana like he could. There are moments from some of his films that I consider the most terrifying I've ever seen. He will be dearly missed. #RIPDavidLynch

Twin Peaks was like nothing else on TV when it premiered in 1990. And while Lynch and company could’ve retread what they did then for the 2017 continuation, they instead opted to make it even MORE off-the-wall. That eighth episode in particular was something to behold.

It’s really sad to read that David Lynch passed away. He has left behind an undeniable legacy.

What a life of uncompromising art and compassion for people! There's no filmmaker or person like him and likely never will be again.

One of the best ways to handle situations is to admit when you've done wrong rather than make excuses or downplay your transgressions. When you take responsibility for your actions, a funny thing happens: you heal. You may be unable to fix the past, but at least you can fix YOU.
