Looks like Brazil still wants to be a democracy.

You know, in all my time, I’ve never been a hard-core leftist. The far end of that spectrum was communism, and I didn’t like its extremes and excesses. But no matter what weird forms the region of the sky left-of-center takes , it tries to represent a principle of life.

Just deleted all the Google apps on my phone. Switching my default browser, as well as my default search engine, to DuckDuckGo. When I get a new phone, no data or apps will be transferred from this phone. Might be no help, but it makes me feel better.

Since most married women have had a name change, and millions of women do NOT have a passport at all, they will be turned away at the polls. This is Project 2025. This is fascism. This is the US Government.

It’s called Save American Voter Eligibility (SAVE), and it requires birth certificates or passports to prove identity. If you’ve changed your name for any reason, and you don’t have a passport under your current name, you will not be allowed to vote. <cont>

On election night, when the outcome was obvious, I said to my girlfriend, “It’s over. Burn your civics book.” I also said that it’s possible women could lose the vote. Yesterday, a bill entered the House to **protect** against voter fraud. <cont>

I’d rather be a pig than a fascist.

I’m convinced that the internet as we know it and social media will be shut down in the coming year. A crippled, castrated version will remain visible, but heavily monitored, and the wrong kind of speech or visiting the wrong websites will be punished. Twitter/X was just a test case. Now, it’s real.

TikTok took it down, so let’s share the shit out of this reading list. #HolocaustRemembranceDay #NeverAgainIsNow #BookSky #StateMediaCensorship

On Monday, a great man will be honored — Dr. Martin Luther King. I will be taking the day off from work, social media, broadcast media, and driving across the Palouse country of SE Washington. I won’t be privy to anything else happening that day. Nothing.

So far, I’ve blocked people every day I check this platform. Porn models, drug plugs, MAGAs, and several political mavens who I agree with but don’t want to be flooded by. I’m trying to recover from 2024, and none of them were helping.

I completed the removal of my Twitter presence, finally. It took several tools, including a browser extension (free) and an app (cost: about $8). I didn’t delete the profile, because I don’t want anyone using my handle for identity theft. Right now, though, it’s completely blank.

Not following back corporate psychedelia, cannabis profiteers, or rent-a-shaman retreat centers.

Tips and Tricks for Bluesky Search bsky.social/about/blog/0...

My first “skeet” on Bluesky. It feels better that Twitter. I wonder how this platform is going to protect itself from becoming what Twitter became. Yeah, no muskiness at the moment, but I’m watching closely for trolls and bullshit. That aside, I’m glad to be here.
