A dogmatic adherence to "being balanced" in my opinion makes someone's journalism much less useful. Someone I really respect once told me that journalists need to be biased towards the truth. I try to remember that whenever I'm working on something.

Speaking from experience, I have never had a time on a subway anywhere near as scary as that time first responders had to get me out of a car with the jaws of life while I went in and out of consciousness. Nothing comes close.
