Whenever you think your boat is a project, remember that somebody else always has a bigger project. 😀 (But I have to be fair: He came into the harbour at it's own engine) #sailing

I have to confess that I like to make my own ropes, but that I do it so little that I make good use of the onliine tutorials of my supplier. #sailing

I am not the greatest fan of furlingsystems. And when Holger came into the harbour with a slighly losehanging forstay we first tried to figure it out from the mastcrane and then, after securing the mast could disassemble the lot. This potentially could have gone very wrong, but didn't. #sailing

Lichtende nachtwolken de eerste van dit seizoen

When somebody with good spirit and less knowlegde installs a pressure oil system with improvised fittings, the next owner suddenly experiences a fountain of oil. #sailing Pretty satisfied with our Grip an tiewrap McGyver-solution to reach port, though. Even more satified with the permanent solution.

#OnThisDay June 1 1979: After transporting his homemade 10' sailboat "Yankee Girl" to Norfolk VA, Minnesota schoolteacher Gerry Spiess begins his solo voyage across the Atlantic. He arrives at Falmouth, England, 54 days later, wearing a white turtleneck sweater he had saved for the occasion.

I haven been abducted to the #hautefagnes for the weekend. Lucky for me the entire marsh is filled with jetties to make me feel at home. #sailing 😂

This is my previous boat. It is one of the best coastal sailings boats I have ever sailed for 4 years at the Northsea. In 2022 I started my plan to sail solo around the world in my Sigma33 OOD. We reinforced the hul, refitted the riggingand sails, and added lots of navigation and safety equipment

Little over a year ago, I bought a boat with the remark: "Teakdeck needs a little TLC." We gave it a lot of TLC: half of the teak is reused for repairs on other boats and we are halfway in restoring the original polyester deck now. #sailing

Last week's boardmeeting. #digitalnomads #sailing

When you sail the Dutch Delta you are likely to encounter the people tha control the traffic in one of the biggest seaports in the world. Sometimes I take the opportunity to see their work from nearby in the Traffic ControlCentre in Rotterdam. #sailing www.portofrotterdam.com/en/contact-h...

Of course I love ketches. Suhali was the first sailboat that ran and won the Sunday Times Golden Globe Race (later @vendeeglobeeng.bsky.social) with it's skipper Sir Robin Knox-Johnston, who in 1969 became the first sailor to sail nonstop around the world solo. #sailing
