Who did this?

Opening bell at the NYSE starts now.

“DOGE won’t just fall short of Musk’s deficit-reduction goals. It will, in all probability, increase the deficit,” Jonathan Chait writes. Are the deficit-reduction efforts just a pretext for ideological warfare? theatln.tc/0zdiT2Hb

NYT Games SPOILER ALERT. The Spangram for Opening Day of baseball was timely, and its design was genius. Well done, @nytimes.com

Current US economic policy.

Getting ready to buy cars for 2 teenaged children. Cost of the vehicles & insurance was significant w/o this lunacy. 🤬 "Drury said consumers can expect price hikes 'across the board.' That includes new cars, used cars, maintenance costs and even insurance premiums" www.usatoday.com/story/money/...

📌NOTE: Immediately after the vile attack on Zelensky by Putin's puppets Friday, Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries should have called a joint press conference and explained to the American public the significance, heinousness and danger of that sickening surrender. 📌They should STILL be talking now.

My family has paid many visits to our National Parks, National Forests, & National Historic Places. I've seen park rangers teach, serve, & even rescue those who came to commune with the beauty & history of this country. Not once have I encountered a ranger who seemed unkind, much less extraneous.

I'm guessing we're only a few months away from Musk announcing a new defense software called Skynet.

Trump pardoned the sentence of arguably the single biggest drug trafficker in American history on his second day in office!

Researchers don't include unnecessary terms in their analysis. The only possible outcome here is increased ignorance and injury to public health.

“On Friday morning, the staffers at a half dozen U.S.-funded medical facilities in Sudan who care for severely malnourished children had a choice to make: Defy President Donald Trump’s order to immediately stop their operations or let up to 100 babies and toddlers die. They chose the children.”

Trump is casting blame on the air traffic controllers, ahead of any official assessment of the cause of the crash. I can't imagine trying to manage a catastrophe like this with someone in a position of public trust going on TV and offering guesses about the cause. Pettiness making a tragedy worse.

I'd have put a lot of money on this press conference quickly becoming a lecture on how this wasn't his fault, and how all the people he doesn't like are to blame. Most importantly, after paying basic lip service to the tragedy and its victims, it's all about him.

Gene Hackman's performance in Mississippi Burning is one of my favorite acting jobs of all time. Happy 95th, Gene. May we all remember the message of this important film.

When I see posts about the #ksleg preparing to submit bills that impact public education.

The people who scoffed at calls for climate change mitigation and preparedness are the same as those who now ask why government didn't do more to prevent the California fires, and they'll be the same ones who call proposals to build back with preventative practices, "government overreach."

Chiefs fans, do we care about the outcome of any of today’s games? If not I’ll just watch the ones with the worst weather.

Before you go trusting Elon to "fix" the country, consider what he did w/ Twitter. He came in preaching free speech & efficiency, removed staff & standards, & what has it become? It's now the online home of our national "Id" - an amplifier of the worst of us that erodes the bonds of our communities.

Today in the parking lot at work I found myself embroiled in a brutal Midwest Nice-Off. A coworker and I needed to pass through the same spot, and both of us sat facing one another, gesturing as if to say, "After you." I ultimately went first, which I think means I lost.

Chiefs vs. Bills never disappoints. This is becoming one of the great rivalries.

"Don't accept that what's happening Is just a case of others' suffering Or you'll find that you're joining in The turning away" Some music just hits a little harder these days.
