We're back everyone! And we are now on BlueSky! Give the fest a follow and stay tuned for our full film announcement and schedule in April. Get your early bird passes before they go up then. You know we always deliver a helluva lineup. Hope to see you all at the @musicboxtheatre.bsky.social.

As you listen to Trump’s DOGE list remember that when they did this in DAVE it was to save a shelter for homeless kids. He is doing it for billionaires.

We are getting close to selling out the evening showing of Andrew Davis' THE FUGITIVE at Classic Cinemas - Elk Grove tomorrow night. Get your tickets while you can and join Patrick Bromley for a post-film discussion of this Chicago classic. www.classiccinemas.com/f/the-fugiti...

MEDIA: "How is Trump going to address a plunging stock market, job losses and all the problems in the country since he took office." COMMON SENSE: "He's going to lie, dummies."

My box office report for @rottentomatoes.com this weekend. Those Captain America numbers aren't good but Last Breath has a good opening...for Focus...as audiences gave theaters the worst box office weekend since February 2024. editorial.rottentomatoes.com/article/week...

This week's physical media edition of the #MovieMadnessPodcast is available. @petersob13.bsky.social joins the show to talk Film noir, a massaging cat, Klaus Kinski as a Nazi, how Kraven isn't all bad plus true gems like The Wages of Fear and Paddington 2. www.nowplayingnetwork.net/moviemadness...

We are looking at filling Classic Cinemas - Elk Grove this Wednesday for the Critic's Classics Series screening of THE FUGITIVE. Matinee at 1:00. The evening show at 7:00 will feature a post-film discussion with @patrickbromley.bsky.social of F This Movie! www.classiccinemas.com/f/the-fugiti...

So who had them using a clip from Uncommon Valor for Hackman?

A buck to the director if they cut to Lithgow during this Bond tribute.

The body language that Marco Rubio showed in the oval office was that of a man with the smallest dick in the universe and trying to hide the fact. Which is something considering the Trump was in the same room.

We told you he was a Russian asset. But you didn't listen.

The weekend review edition of the #MovieMadnessPodcast is here with Steve Prokopy and I reviewing five films including #LastBreath, #RiffRaff, #MyDeadFriendZoe, #ColdWallet and #BecomingKatharineGraham. www.nowplayingnetwork.net/moviemadness...

The Critic's Classics Series is following up this week's great screening of WITNESS with another Harrison Ford classic next week at Classic Cinemas - Elk Grove. Tickets are going fast for THE FUGITIVE on Weds., Mar. 5. Get them while you can. www.classiccinemas.com/f/the-fugiti...

Dear News Media, stop showing video montages of the laminated face c*nt (thank you, Bill Burr!) and just show him giving the Nazi salute on a loop.

SOME KIND OF WONDERFUL debuted on Feb. 27, 1987 in theaters. On The Friendship Dilemma Podcast, Morgan Gire and I had different takes on it and it led to a very lively discussion. www.nowplayingnetwork.net/the-friendsh...

Gene Hackman was so memorable as Lex Luthor in the Superman but this moment is an all-timer. www.youtube.com/watch?v=GBZH...

Also AI is dumb

Would have loved to have seen them together.

One of my favorite moments from this wonderful sports film. And Hackman doesn't say a word during it. Just watch his face. www.youtube.com/watch?v=zFaE...

Feel like I'll be posting these all day. In no particular order. Just as they come to me. www.youtube.com/watch?v=GB2S...

When someone asks who my favorite actors are there was never a time when Gene Hackman failed to escape my lips. I loved the guy! Just in the past 2 weeks watched 3 of his films for an upcoming show just on 1995. Hero. Villain. Drama. Comedy. He was everything. #RIP

Tickets are still available for tonight's showing of WITNESS at Classic Cinemas - Elk Grove. Morgan Gire and I are hosting. And if you are a lover of Elk Grove Cinema as we are, there may be a little something extra for you if you attend tonight. www.classiccinemas.com/f/witness/1572

Chicago's Theatrical (and Streaming) Release Schedule has been updated www.chicagofilmcritics.org/releases

Tomorrow at Classic Cinemas - Elk Grove at 1 & 7 PM - Harrison Ford in WITNESS. Come for the 40th anniversary of this celebrated screenplay with Morgan Gire and I hosting a post-film discussion. It's all part of the Critic's Classics Series experience. www.youtube.com/watch?v=XwHx...

My box office report this week for Rotten Tomatoes shows bad numbers for Captain America, fine numbers for The Monkey and less fine for Paddington in Peru.

This week's physical media edition of the #MovieMadnessPodcast gets controversial as @petersob13 talks about Performance, Cruising, The Canyons, The Joy of Sex, Body Parts and The Conqueror. Plus for fun we have The Third Man, Amadeus and My Girl. www.nowplayingnetwork.net/moviemadness...

Don't forget this Wednesday night - we're showing WITNESS at Classic Cinemas - Elk Grove as part of the Critic's Classics Series. Morgan Eliza and I are hosting. Come out and see the only time Harrison Ford was nominated for an Oscar. www.classiccinemas.com/f/witness/1572

It would be a much better world if everyone said that they were aspiring for and seeking to be great and continuing to work on and perfect themselves then just walking around thinking or saying out loud that they were just great.

The #MovieMadnessPodcast has a light week looking at just four movies. @SteveProkopy and I review #TheMonkey, #Cleaner, #OldGuy and #Invader. www.nowplayingnetwork.net/moviemadness...

In case you missed my box office piece from this past weekend for @rottentomatoes.com, I breakdown the Captain America numbers, give a high five to Ne Zha 2 and highlight a film still in the top ten that has some historical significance. editorial.rottentomatoes.com/article/week...

Elected Republicans are pretty much the worst people on the planet.

Jared Polis must have been the test case for the Visitors' Conversion system. Diana must have overseen this one personally.

ZERO DAY is one of the silliest things I have seen in some time. Alternately amazed every time a great new cast member showed up only to see them engulfed in a show that wants to be both pulpy and preachy but blows past its chances to be really scary and pertinent to the times we live in.

Next week the Critic's Classics Series at Elk Grove Cinema kicks off back-to-back Harrison Ford screenings. WITNESS on Weds, Feb. 26 hosted by Morgan Gire & I. Then on Weds., Mar. 5 return with Patrick Bromley hosting THE FUGITIVE. Get your tickets now! www.classiccinemas.com/f/witness/1572

Seats are starting to fill up for tomorrow. Hoping you can join Collin Souter & I for a discussion through this year's Oscars. All the categories plus opinions, historical context and probably some laughs as well. This Weds 6:30 PM at the Palatine Library. www.palatinelibrary.org/event/tbd-as...

The physical media edition of the #MovieMadnessPodcast has @petersob13 and I talking John Candy, Burt Reynolds, ''80s indie staples, Constantine, bad fish mutants, Richard Dreyfuss directing porn and a pair of David Fincher films upgraded to 4K. www.nowplayingnetwork.net/moviemadness...

Don't forget this Wednesday. Big event at the Palatine Library District as Collin Souter and I will be hosting an Oscars discussion from 6:30-8:30. Gonna be a fun show and people can make it. www.palatinelibrary.org/event/tbd-as...

Was so hoping that Miley was going to pull out a picture of Trump and tear it up after performing Sinead’s song.

I normally avoid red carpet watching like the plague. But I am watching the SNL one.

Catch me on NewsNation today at 1:20 PM Central talking about Captain America: Brave New World and the weekend box office.

Just a reminder that @collinsouter.bsky.social and I are hosting this Oscars discussion at the Palatine Library District on Weds, Feb. 19 at 6:30 PM. Our choices, trivia, statistics, history, maybe a little snark. Come and get a heads up on your Oscar pool. www.palatinelibrary.org/event/tbd-as...

The #MovieMadnessPodcast has nine reviews for you this weekend. Steve Prokopy and I share our thoughts on #CaptainAmericaBraveNewWorld, #PaddingtonInPeru, #BridgetJonesMadAboutTheBoy, #TheGorge, #Rounding, #SlyLives, #BecomingLedZeppelin and MORE! www.nowplayingnetwork.net/moviemadness...
