Ed Yong is such a real one <3 www.nytimes.com/2025/02/22/m...

As someone obsessed with printing presses, this is a fascinating little story! Delightful.

Hive mind! I want to replace the fort-making set we got off Buy Nothing years and years ago. It’s the Discovery Construction Fort and it’s AWFUL. The kiddos get so frustrated with the poorly drilled holes. Do you all have recommendations on a better fort-building set?

The mailbox. 🤣 In all seriousness, good to know about the kitty litter tub. We got the cardboard box this time and are reusing a smaller jug to cut down on plastic waste. One piece at a time.

I am very disappointed in this. Unions help everyone! It still baffles me that companies are so anti-union. Invest in your people, give them security, and they’ll be more likely to provide excellence and loyalty. Recognize the union!

Toad was asleep, and he was having a dream. He was on stage, and he was wearing a costume. Toad looked out into the dark. Frog was sitting in the theater.

Is it news dump time? I haven’t dared to look. 🫣

Movies you’ve watched more than six times, gifs only [the one I wanted doesn’t play, so this will have to remind you of the scene under the airplane with the famous punch]

Just devastating. I don’t know this host, but as a former NPR person, I’m sending condolences and care in his general direction. This story made me weep; Kiah sounds like she was an incredible person. Thank you for sharing her with the world.

Working on a story about how federal layoffs have affected Alexandrians. If anyone knows folks from Alexandria who have been laid off and are willing to talk on the record about it, I'd be happy to help tell their story.

I saw this departing the office today (looking west toward the Washington Monument) and was super intrigued! Is there some kind of atmospheric phenomenon that makes this happen? I’ve never seen anything quite like it before.

Accurate illustration of me in the spring.

I am not good at games, but this is very clever.

I’m dying, I’m dying. 🤣

Tonight’s viewing with my parents: Star Trek VI - The Undiscovered Country Klingon President, faced with controversial peace talks but potentially scrapping them over putting two Federation officers on trial for accused murder: “This President is not above the law.” Me: 😭
