Last night, I attended a lecture at The Met with my producing partner, Cheri Wicks. We received off-hours access to "Monstrous Beauty: A Feminist Revision of Chinoiserie" πŸ€“ It helped me make a connection between two plays we are considering - you never know where inspiration will come from!

Go follow my friend, Jenna. What a rockstar 🀘🎸🀩

Breaking: Chaos in the veterans administration is now greatly endangering veterans who seek mental health services. I’m gifting you this article. This is really good journalism. www.nytimes.com/2025/03/22/u...

Where does the Department of Education spend its money? Accounting for just 4% of the budget, the DOE funds a wide variety of educational needs.

A lil' "Co-Producing Artistic Director field trip" to The Drama Book Shop this morning. πŸ€“πŸ“šπŸŽβ€οΈ

"By stripping the fully rehearsed productions down to their essentials, with minimal decor, Together aims to celebrate the raw power of storytelling - getting back to what often makes theatre so compelling in the first place." (NYC indie theater community already does this but - sure - join us! πŸ‘€πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ)

My eccentric uncle used to say β€œThe first rule of theatre is to always leave them wanting more.” Lovely guy, terrible anaesthetist.

In case your heart needed warming: the β€˜Ibsen for Kids’ program at the Ibsen Museum and Theater in Oslo.

Just a gentle reminder to hydrate and moisturize, you parched, salty little gremlin.

Took a chance at The Ripped Bodice this afternoon & wound up with a signed book! Can't wait to dig in πŸ€“πŸ“š @tanvierwrites.bsky.social

Happy International Women's Day! Here a snap of me & my producing partner, Cheri Wicks, acting together in "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead" (2009) - This is when we realized we could take our two beautiful brains and make 'em into a MEGA BRAIN. πŸ’ͺ😊❀️🎭

BREAKING: In response to an @aclu.org suit, the NEA has agreed to drop requirements that applicants sign onto an anti-trans "gender ideology" guideline, though for now the language is still part of the awarding process, at least until the suit gets a hearing. www.americantheatre.org/2025/03/07/n...

Our goal is to give you a small list of things you can do, with new suggestions every week. We hope you look at this list and think β€œHey, I can manage that!”

The subway conductor announces: β€œHello, everyone. There are New York City Police officers on board, and they will be patrolling the train,” and the kindness of her tone makes it feel like a multilayered heads-up.

Gentle reminder that many disabled people can’t always shop local, especially if housebound. We’re dependent on delivery & sometimes left with big chains as only option. If you can, help someone get what they need from a great local minority owned business! Community will save us in the end.

Kindness. πŸ’™

The past few weeks have been hard on communities. It can be overwhelming to see so much go wrong all at once β€” but we can still take action! We have a plain language update and give 3 actions you can take today to protect our rights!

President Trump and his appointees are now solely in charge of the Kennedy Center. Performers protested by dancing.

...a happy place πŸ’¦πŸ„β€β™‚οΈ

That things like labor organizers and unions and road trips and waterfalls and national parks exist gives me hope and makes me want to fight for what we have, and what we could have

Everything I needed this evening. β€οΈπŸ‘Š

I keep thinking about this one line from Gore Vidal's The Best Man.

A song from β€œFinn,” the show by Kooman & Dimond that was canceled at the Kennedy Center in the wake of the hostile takeover by the Thought Police. The song? Lovely. The action against it? Infuriating. youtu.be/aFseDTbhiPM?...

Oh, hardy har har. Did I say I was gonna sleep for two days after striking Pecking Order? Nah, today I'm submitting my NYCC Discretionary Funding proposal. πŸ˜€πŸ€ž Support the arts - call your local reps and ask them to consider discretionary funding to small independent theater companies!

...and that's a wrap on my show that loaded-in on Inauguration Day and now four weeks later...πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ I'm so tired. Great experience - highs & lows. I'm gonna strike this show tomorrow, sleep for two days and then go see Roundabout's latest. Go see a show! ❀️🎭
