Thank you to the Bookselling Industry Charitable Foundation for all their hard work for all of us. Thank you for a great night, Denver! #abawinterinstitute

Excellent reception, America Booksellers Association! #WI2025

Old Romantics. This one felt like reliving my younger moments. Often screaming at younger me, "it can be better!" Absolutely a fantastic read. #books #biblioasis

On the bright side, amazing art tends to rise during times of darkness, so I'm looking forward to extraordinary works of art here in America.

Dear @chuckwendig.bsky.social, thank you for creating the creepiest otherworld atmosphere I've been fully sucked into since IT. #books #horror #bookselling

ARC drop! Thank you, can't wait to jump in on this one, @biblioasis.bsky.social

I have been loving Vienna Blood on PBS. Looking forward to reading the novels, but also this lovely bit of history!

When I heard about this tale set during the height of the #MeToo movement, I had concerns. From the first page, with a sardonic wit Mark Twain would have tipped his hat to, Kalfus expertly spins a cautionary tale for the ages. I thought I could guess how the story ends. I sure didn't.

This is unacceptable! Navajo Nation President Buu Nygren, reporting that Navajo citizens in Arizona and New Mexico have faced “negative, sometimes traumatizing experiences” with federal agents targeting undocumented immigrants after Trump’s recent immigration orders.

I can already tell this isn't going to be a quick read, based on these gorgeous and meaty sentences that make up these first paragraphs that make up these first chapters. This is going to be beautiful. On sale 2.25.25.

My review will be in my store's quarterly review magazine and of course I nominated this for Indie Next. My summary: educational, and there are vampires.

This is my first staff pick at work, thought I'd start with current affairs.

Loved this book! Just told my son about it, who plans to read it next. I'll add this to my staff pick shelf, as well.

Not much to celebrate lately, but this is special because even the Stoker long list is a big honor and the company is absolutely spectacular. Congrats to these amazing authors.

Charlie Jane Anders wrote about this book. I'm already sucked in and exploring more by @premeemohamed.com

I have really really been enjoying how well Mahnke wrote each of these captivating vignettes. Highly recommend as read aloud fun on a rainy, dark night. #books

It's that time of year to share our favorite reads. The first time I read Huck Finn, it was life-changing. A peeled back look at our culture that shaped the way I saw things forever after, and made me into the reader I am today. This year, James did the same thing for me. #Bookthreads #village_books

I just started reading @sgj.bsky.social upcoming book The Buffalo Hunter Hunter last night and my only goal now is to stay home and read all day. I have the best job. Bookselling. @villagebookswa.bsky.social

Huck Finn changed my life. Has anyone read this one? Thoughts?

Must read for the season

I've just learned that cranberries are not actual berries and GODDAMNIT why are berries so full of lies and deceit, how hard is it to have fruit standards Fuck it, I'm making the call here Nothing is a berry anymore Everything is a fucking legume now Cranberries are Bog Peanuts Deal with it

Look at the amazing titles coming out next year! I'll be reading all winter and will be reviewing them for Village Books in Bellingham, WA

Then we need to wrap up 2024 here and now, this is absolutely the high note we need to go out on

📚💙 would recommend. Coming this summer.

Current read. Available in just a few months in the US. I'm absolutely enjoying the story and fantastic first person narrative. I've been in a reading slump and this one pitched me out of it.

Just finished. A page turner for me and an unanticipated ending. This will be a fun summer read. Out May 7.
